My 14 year old son has quite spotty skin, I want to help him clear it up but not keen on acne products with all those nasty chemicals in, can anybody recommend things to help clear up spots but are also gentle on a teenagers skin?

The Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit range is supposed to be good for teenage skins.

Quinoderm facial wash and a Body Shop facial scrubber (a rough sponge essentially) keep my DS clean and clear.

My teenaged DSSs use products by Avène, Cleanance which I really recommend.

If spots are bad, a course of antibiotics isn't a bad idea. And if he has blackheads, take him to a beautician for extraction.

I used to buy this range for when DS was a younger teen.

I can't say if it really cleared up his skin, was useful as an all over body wash which helped with BO.

If spots are bad and not shifting, then it may be that more medical treatment is required. Trip to the GP, who will probably prescribe topical treatments first, if no joy then antibiotics.
