J.Crew sizing - coat

I have a feeling J.Crew sizing is on the large side, is that right?

I'm looking at this coat and am unsure which size to go for. I'm v tall so the tall option is good news.

I'm UK 14/16 depending on the shop, but losing weight - any thoughts on whether I should get medium or large?

Sorry - that should be whether I get US 10 or 12? Am also looking at the Tippi sweater and deciding between medium & large.

Have a look on net a porter, they have the actual measurements for the tippi sweater.
Not sure if they have any j crew coats at the moment though.

Or email customer services and ask for advice, they are so helpful, second to none.

I'm a 14/16 and I have xl tee's from J crew, but a medium in boyfriend sweaters.
I've not tried the tippi, I don't think it would be slouchy enough for me.

I really like the look of it, love all the cocoon coats but they are just not the right shape for me, I need something more fitted/tailored and I haven't seen anything else I like. Might take the plunge, I can feel coat panic about to set in...

I wanted a cocoon coat, and have got a burgundy one from Cos.
I've sized down too, so it's not too bulky.

I love the look but even sized down it's not right on me. Poss because I am super-tall (but not super-skinny) that it just makes me look too big overall. I'm generally better in fitted/tailored things (hence why I like the fit of the Tippi sweater).

It's more than I wanted to spend this year as I'm still losing weight but equally I'll wear it lots so...maybe it's worth a try.

Talked myself into it on the basis of the INSIDER 25% discount but it's not working any more - horror!

Does anyone have any current J.Crew codes by any chance?
