Wedding, shoe colour- help

I'm bridesmaid at my sister's wedding in a couple of weeks. I won't see her til the next week, I'm sorting my own clothes. Dress had to be navy so I've bought three, so she can choose.

But I have no idea what colour shoes to get- I don't dress up, I have one pair of black heels that I wear to every event. But I need new shoes, to go with a navy dress but without knowing what actual dress I'm wearing!

So- navy dress, navy heels? Is that done? Or can I wear black? I'm lost, I can't do high heels as I never wear them and I'm big so they are painful. Also, big feet. I have no idea what to do! Any help gratefully received!

Silver works well too as a neutral shoe colour. I was recently a bridesmaid and we had navy dresses and silver shoes. It looked lovely.

Nude or navy would be fine. Personally black & navy is a no-no..

Go for mid heels if you're not used to them, your sis would want you to be comfortable...

Thanks all! I did kind of assume that black would be a no no, but I just know nothing. Nude! Like pink shoes? I would never have considered that! I'm trying find a pic of the one I like best but I can't find it, it's navy with white embroidery from Monsoon, not really a bridesmaid dress but more a wedding guest dress but I like it. Just under the knee, flaring out a bit. 50's style, sort of.

I was considering silver, when I was in town I saw these www.schuh.co.uk/womens-white-and-silver-irregular-choice-cortesan-floral-bar-court/1106011860/ but I think they may be a bit much.... I do like Irregular choice, but I know not to everyone's taste! I would prefer to get some I'll wear again.

I'll try next weekend, keeping nude, navy and silver in mind.
