La Redoute - experiences?

I got a La Redoute catalogue through the post and quite like a few of their basic tops and jumpers. They seem good value too.

Has anyone ordered from them before? If so, what is the quality of the clothes like? I assume they are somehow linked to Vertbaudet - I have bought my DC clothes from there before and sent them all back because the quality was so poor.

Also, do the sizes come up big or small? The tops I like come is sizes 6/8 or 10/12 and I would say I am an 8/10!

Thanks.

I personally find it hit and miss. I've had some great stuff from there, and some not so great. I think their photography is good so things don't always look as you expect. Got my DH some shirts from there and they were really good.

I haven't got anything from there for myself for a while because a lot of the recent women's stuff was lose around the waist which makes me look like a blob. But I've had the odd nice dress.

That sizing thing I'm not really sure about. Annoying isn't it. I would guess the lower size for you going on past experience.

Sizes are all over the place and delivery/returns/customer service are appalling.

OMG, stay well away from La Redoute!
The quality is crap, as is the customer service, and nothing ever looks remotely like it does in the catalogue!

If you're in the UK, the French sizes will most probably seem very small to you (although the average French woman is more straight-up-and-down than the average English pear-shape), so size up if you do decide to order, but be warned, you may live to regret ever attempting to buy from them Wink

I first bought from la redoute last year after seeing some great sequin trousers on a fashion blog - same trousers that my fashionista niece asked me if they were the French connection ones!
And I have never had a problem, you have got to be careful some of the stuff bad sizes and poor quality but they have free returns. And don't pay full price - they always seem to have a discount on or 50% off vouchers with an order

The customer service is awful.

I bough three pairs of size 11 trainers for my son who at the time was away at Uni. I took them out of the parcel, saw they said the correct size on the box and opened each box to see it contained each pair in blu, black and grey.

When he next came home I had bought him numerous other trainers as well and he said he wouldn't wear these three pairs. As I had bought them at sale price I decided to sell them on ebay instead of returning them to la redoute.

I listed them all as size 11. The blue pair sold immediately and the buyer contacted me to say they were too big and the size in the trainers said 11.5.

I checked the others and they were also 11.5 so I was able to alter the auction descriptions, but I had to refund he first buyer and pay their return postage.

I contacted la redoute who were vile and said they didn't sell half size converse. The shoes were till on the website and yes there were no half sizes listed but the ones I was sent were in a box with a sticker saying size 11 but the label inside trainers was 11.5.

They basically accused me of trying to return shoes not bought from them and refused to accept any returns!

Bastards. They won't get a penny more from me.

I order from them all the time for my DDs. There is always a code floating about, making their items excellent value. I do big orders and just return what I don't like. If you are careful, you can get some lovely, sweet things for your children at amazing prices. And you won't see everyone else's children in them. It's like Zara, for less. I don't order for myself, but for my DDs, it's becoming one of the places I buy many of their things from.

I haven't had any problems, either and must be up to order #10 or so.

I usually find the sizing on the big side. And there've been a few occasions where something was listed as in stock on the website but I've then had to wait weeks for it to be delivered.

Thanks everyone.

I think I'll give it a miss!
