What jacket with this dress?

Lady V Mocha Polka Dot Dress

What would you put with this dress? I'm layering for warmth (there will be thermals!) and will have a full, cream petticoat underneath.

Shoes are very similar colour to dress like these.

Also, can I wear a hat / fascinator with this style?

I knew I'd change my mind on the Phase Eight dress I bought earlier this year!

Well, you could go for any cropped jacket or fitted 50s style cardigan.

What about a cream / mocha bolero?

Yes you can wear a hat / facinator depending on the style!

Petticoats are lovery and warm, like wearing a light duvet IME.

How about one of these jackets? Or this?

Shoe link isn't working for me I'm afraid...

WeAreSix · 20/09/2013 11:15

I was thinking faux fur jacket in cream or a bit darker. I need to be warm :)

Not sure what type of hat thing.

Hat, yes, pill box is always good with this sort of style. Bee Smith does some nice ones to order in the colour(s) of ones choice.

MrsLettuce · 20/09/2013 11:17

Faux fur ia always good. Maybe try Yoox and TKmaxx?

WeAreSix · 20/09/2013 11:18

Shoes are mid heel t-bar.

This is for a wedding (should've said, sorry) so need to steer clear of ivory especially for bolero as bride is wearing something similar she's as decisive as me clearly

On PC not phone now, so easier to link!

Jacket like this but classier!

Shoes linky but light mocha, not black.

petticoat

Perfect! Those petticoats are the best available IMHO - so very soft, full and swishy.

mummylovescakes · 20/09/2013 11:28

How about this beaded shrug in mocha/brown?

GirlWithTheDirtyShirt · 20/09/2013 11:33

WeAreSix I've just taken delivery of four of those jackets from New Look for my bridesmaids. I'd got one for myself too but I think it's too dark to wear with my dress. It's definitely a dark nude colour - much darker than it looks on the picture.

It's a nice jacket though, I quite like it.

WeAreSix · 20/09/2013 13:03

I've just been to MILs and seen the Bride's jacket - this is what she's got

I think I'm going to have to go darker than I'd originally looked at.

Thank you for the link mummylovescakes, I think it needs to be more substantial than that though. I am the coldest person!

How about this? LK Bennett. A bit pricey but I am sure you'd get lots of wear out of it.

MrsLettuce · 20/09/2013 14:16

This might tone nicely - is hard to tell on a screen.

this

I'd be tempted to give this a try too ('cause of the price) but it looks a bit shapeless

WeAreSix · 20/09/2013 16:57

I think the LK Bennett is a bit too formal. The dress feels fun and flirty ;)

Love the DKNY, only concern is it looks very shiny! Might order to see what its like in real life. I agree the Next one is a bit Meh. The Yoox link is also a bit shapeless.

I will order DKNY and the New Look one.

Thanks everyone Flowers

p.s. anyone know where I can find lovely thick children's petticoats?
