Want a plain, warm coat and I quite like this, what do you think? I know it's boring but I'm not bothered by that I just want warm.

i like it, no idea on the warm bit though is there a store near you where you could try it on.
i like to try coats on everything varies in size so much and i like them baggy.

bishboschone · 15/09/2013 19:57

It's just wadding , not feathers so won't be that warm . Go to Zara or mango and you will get a down coat for £130 ish.

WhoNickedMyName · 15/09/2013 20:01

It's neither nice or nasty. It's just meh. Can you spend a bit more, like bish said, and get a down coat? Think of it as an investment Grin

SundaySimmons · 15/09/2013 20:02

It is ok in a nondescript way.

pudseypie · 15/09/2013 20:09

It's ok but agree you should get the down one.

lurkingaround · 15/09/2013 20:12

I think you could do better.

bishboschone · 15/09/2013 20:15

Could someone do links please. I can't make
My phone do them.

thenightsky · 15/09/2013 20:19

Its ok for a cold day. I got a similar one - Helly Hansen - from TKMaxx and it is incredibly warm and totally windproof despite being wadding and not down. And it washes and dries well.

IceCreamForCrow · 15/09/2013 20:20

I bought a similar one from TKMaxx a few years ago. I love it but it was a down filling and is so warm.

TartanRug · 15/09/2013 21:13

Aw crap. I wanted everyone to tell me to buy it! Grin. I would be better with a down coat wouldn't I, I don't intend to buy another one for a few years... Off to look at the mango one, any more links of anything else?

Look at Zara and uniqlo.. Also esprit have a nice one.

Pumpkintopf · 15/09/2013 22:22

If going for down, you may or may not want to check that it's humane ie not from live plucked animals. M&S and some canadian manufacturers (there may be others but these are the ones I know of) have certified their supply chains do not include live plucked down. I don't know about Uniqlo, Zara etc.

Pumpkin thank you for your link. I am genuinely ashamed to admit that this hadn't even occurred to me. Sad

I think I'll stick to synthetic after all.

its not a coat that could ever be described as nice or attractive.

Having said that, it isnt the most hideous coat ever. It just looks like a generic winter coat, but i wouldnt pay £90 for it

leesam · 16/09/2013 12:31

Think there is better out there ,wouldn't pay £90 for it .Hope you find what you re looking for soon. X

superkatee · 16/09/2013 13:05

I agree I think you could find better, if your'e going for comfort then it will definitely keep you warm but style wise, I don't think its the most flattering! And £90 is a lot!
