Visited one of their UK shops today - I never realised they were so expensive! £60 for a bra. Is the quality very good?

My mother bought me two in the US 9 years ago and I'm still wearing them. They fit nicely and are very pretty. No idea what they're like now though, they might have gotten worse since then!

dexter73 · 14/09/2013 20:46

I have pants and they are very good quality. About £20 for 3 pairs so not bad for something a bit nicer than your average pants. I'm sure they do bras that are cheaper than £60 don't they?

holidaybug · 14/09/2013 20:52

I picked up a few and they were all that sort of price. The pants were £27 for 3 pairs - I thought maybe they had just translated 1 for 1 dollar to £

They have got up a lot since I last went! Maybe I will stick to M&S 3 for £10 in the future!

InMySpareTime · 14/09/2013 21:06

They still do the "add 4 inches" measurement for bras, so unless you actually know how to fit bras properly yourself, it's likely you'll get one that doesn't fit very well, no matter what the quality is like.
Their models are all so badly fitted it's laughable.
They don't even stock my size, and said I must be mistaken as apparently 26GG is not a real sizeHmm.

I adore their 'Love Pink' range. But that's clothing rather than underwear, they do beautiful tops and laceback tees.

hermioneweasley · 16/09/2013 19:36

The prices are expensive in the UK. I like their cotton pants, and they had then at 5 for £20 so not too prohibitive. I like the patterns on their cotton pants, and they wear very well.

Without sounding too disgusting I have had a bra from VS for about 5/6 years and it literally is as good as new, it has washed up well and not faded or frayed at all.

Can't say that I would pay that for my bee stings again but I guess it might be worth it.

snowlie · 17/09/2013 09:05

Their shop at Luton airport is hideous, full of nylon knickers and polyester bags!

Vintagebeads · 17/09/2013 10:06

I have three VS bra's two are a few years old and one is new.

They are an brilliant fit and wash so well and are like new. They were all bought in the US so slightly cheaper.

SorrelForbes · 17/09/2013 11:24

VS bras are ok in smaller sizes. Their fitting service is dreadful so anyone wearing a bra fitted in store is almost certainly wearing the wrong size.

Is recommend splurging £60 in Rigby and Peller or Bravissimo instead.

goodasitgets · 17/09/2013 15:18

Bras don't come in my size
I love the knickers, I think I have the high leg briefs and they don't fall down/ride up and they're just comfortable
The campus pants (aka jogging bottoms) are comfortable and mega long but size down

angelinajelly · 17/09/2013 19:37

I had a look round the new Trafford Centre store the other day and was quite disappointed. The bras seemed to be either insanely over-padded or not padded at all, and I could feel an uncomfortable infection coming on just looking at the nylon knickers.

digforvictory · 17/09/2013 21:11

I have about 8 VS bras, bought by DH in the US. He wouldn't have paid that much for a bra, I think he got them in an outlet. I hand wash them and they've lasted really well and they're very comfortable.

DH bought matching knickers with all of them but he picked out quite 'minimal' styles so I don't wear them often and only for a few minutes when I do

Lucylloyd13 · 19/09/2013 07:32

Overpriced from a country which does not have a tradition of producing, or buying, high quality lingerie.

The premium which they enjoy stateside is not warranted here.
