Where can I find an 'October' coat?

I need a coat to see me through until winter really kicks in - an 'October' coat if you will. I have a winter coat but it is not cold enough to wear it yet. Is there an alternative to the hideous cagoule I currently own?! It must have a hood as my exciting life involves lots of school and nursery runs, plus it rains a lot where we live. Most of the coats I have seen are those padded quilt type of ones, which aren't great for me as they make me look like the Michelin Man! Budget wise, the cheaper the better! TIA, ladies.

I posted on an earlier jacket thread as I have just got a fab lightweight parka from target dry, v pleased with it- it's called the Emily and I got the khaki. totally waterproof and I paid £46. There is a discount code on schoolgatestyle. Wink Wink

i have a waterproof coat from seasalt. It was really expensive, but it was one of those purchases that you never regret once you've made it. I too was wearing my anorak in spring and autumn and it just made me sad! I looked like a sack of spuds. Now i look like a much more stylish sack of spuds.

Mine in just over the bum in length and is quite warm (warmer than my anorak) and lined with cotton, so it feels nicer too. It's in the sale now, and doesn't appear to be on this list.
