Eyebrows -wax, thread or pluck?

Mine are in need of some attention! I'd normally have them threaded but the last time I did the thread broke and cut my under-brow area, leaving me with a scab for a week or so which looked slightly like I'd been in a fight! My (bikini) waxer tried to convince me to go to her but I'm reluctant as the only time I had them waxed (aged 15!) it stayed red for days and was totally humiliating! What would you do? I've got a party on Saturday night, I could just pluck but it won't look as good.

I would still go for threading, despite the mishap you had last time. I have mine done every month and then maintain with a bit of plucking. Just plucking myself does not get all the hairs and look groomed enough. Just make sure you have it done early on Saturday so you are not red before the party!

I get mine waxed which I prefer as I find it less painful and prolonged than threading. Waxing really shouldn't leave you red for days if it's done properly.

I have the same issue with redness. My beautician plucks them into shape and that works well. Waxing eyebrows is ageing for the skin around eye area so that's another reason I try to avoid it.

Threading is brilliant, it gives a much more defined shape. It doesn't hurt me at all. I find the noise of it a bit strange but no pain at all.

I have mine threaded. Infact had them done this afternoon. Still hurts when I have them done, but it is quick, looks neat and lasts a while.

Has anyone else ever been cut by the thread? It was a proper scab, over 1cm long and nearly 1mm thick, between brow and eye, on the fleshy far corner towards the ear.

No never happened to me but sounds scary! I find the noise quite disturbing enough!

I go for threading. I've never been cut by the thread, but the most I've been injured by it is having a tiny scab where a particularly thick hair has been removed.

I seem to be known amongst my friends for having good eyebrows (threading plus Benefit BrowZings) so I'm loathe to change to anything else.

I'll give the threading another go in the morning, fingers crossed! I do love the look of a beautifully formed brow Smile.

Why does waxing add to ageing? Is it just damage to the skin? In which case, are we ageing other parts by waxing? Scary thought!

With waxing, the skin is stretched and pulled so probably why its more aging.

Threading for me too...so quick and easy.

I'm tempted to give threading another go myself now, especially as I'm on the old retinoids which aren't exactly compatible with waxing. Give us an update Snoot and let us know how it went.

I had them threaded at midday, the redness is a lot less marked now, not gone by any means though! No cuts this time so I shall count myself lucky Smile. It's not as good as I've had before but seriously better than I'd have achieved with a pair of tweezers!

I'd stick with threading. Keep aloe Vera gel and smother it over any cuts etc
