Any recommendations for a warm waterproof coat which actually looks stylish!

ALL the high street winter coats are crap this year. I have been looking for a few weeks now - nothing I would be seen dead in. Watching replies with interest!

Have you seen the Autograph dark blue shower proof one? It's £99 and looks good. It's not down filled, but if your budget stretched to a Uniqlo ultra light down coat, too, wearing both together could be a great option.

I was looking at the Barbour Artic Down this season and it appears to be poly filled, now (wasn't before) and its more like £280. Shame, as it look great.

Thanks bunny wearing the two together might be a good option. Yes bluestones I agree doesn't seem to many good options on the high street.

Having this problem too. Been boring the pants off my friends & family by constantly talking about my "winter coat issue"
The closest I've got is the Sterling Jacket in Crew but it's not in store until 24th Sept. Despite the fact that I live nowhere near the coast, am certainly not the "outdoorsy" type & have no intention of getting on a boat, it just might do.
Sorry, can't link to it as it's not on their website, I saw it in their catalogue.
Embarrassingly unhelpful post.

It might be on a horsey website but this is divine www.dressagedeluxe.co.uk/Shop.asp?viewmode=vp&pid=2555

FoxyHarlow123 · 13/09/2013 17:36

This is lovely too

I have bought so far, this

www.topshop.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?searchTerm=Duffle&storeId=12556&productId=11178188&urlRequestType=Base&categoryId=&langId=-1&productIdentifier=product&catalogId=33057

And this

www.topshop.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?searchTerm=Parka&storeId=12556&productId=8996173&urlRequestType=Base&categoryId=&langId=-1&productIdentifier=product&catalogId=33057

The first is for freezing cold, dry days,

The latter is for the car and for walking around shopping centres as it is unlined.

I am trying not to think about buying a pink coat as I have not seen one I like this season.

And a new trench/mac.

And a padded one.

No one coat covers every occasion. :(

Thanks for the suggestions. That Danish site looks really good.

I'm going to Amsterdam in a few weeks, is there a store there?

macthecatsmum · 14/09/2013 19:07

Anyone actually got a ultra light down jacket-uniqlo or not? I and DD thought they were fucking awfulnot flattering. then i tried a Michael kors one in tk maxx and it was more than ok-unfortunately the only one in fat was a hideous green. do i stalk tk maxx or go for the uniqlo? live in the north east, walk to work often have to go on the field for pe covers and suffer from hot flushes. will i need something else? i have posh winter ones.
