A question for those with slender calves

Followng from my boots thread earlier this week..... if you are very skinny slender of calf, do you have the confidence to wear skinnies with ankle boots - or even dresses, woolly tights and ankle boots? Just curious. Smile

Not really lack of confidence but they just never look right so I don't.

Although Ive just bought these boots and they seem to somehow work better so I might be more adventurous this year!

Yes I do but I think it all depends on the height of the boot. Just below the ankle bone for me is most flattering. If its taller then a chunkier boot is also flattering. It looks better for me if the top of the boot is wide and not hugging my calf.

I haven't had the confidence but have tried skinnies with a fairly slim fitting ankle boot with a low (2" tops) heel and think they look okay. Not sure I'd be brave enough to do the dress/skirt and ankle boot combo. Don't think I'd get away with a chunky boot ....

If you like uggs which I really do they are so chunky that they create the illusion of slender legs.
Not everyone cares for them though.
Be brave I bet you look great.

I'm slender of calf and wear ankle boots with skinny jeans sometimes, never thought to worry about it, should I? Blush

I worry more about knee high boots being too baggy round the ankle and calf.

Twinklestein · 12/09/2013 22:40

You can have knee boots taken in Nugget, that's what I do.

I've found that ankle boots that stop low on the ankle, go narrow at the top, or lace up boots are ok.

The ones that don't work for me are the wide ankle boots - like biker boots. They flap like wellies and look peculiar.

Pollywallywinkles · 12/09/2013 22:42

It's knee high boots that are the problem not ankle boots.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 12/09/2013 23:10

I suppose I could Twinkle but I hate buying stuff I have to get altered. I usually find a narrow pair eventually but just can take ages.

Know what you mean about the ankle boots alright I go for the low ones.

MrsMcGregor · 13/09/2013 09:29

Knee boots definitely not a problem for me although have to be careful they don't fit like wellies! I got a few pairs from Duo which have served me well and bought an LK Bennett pair of black riding boots last year which had lovely slender calves.

I think I'm just so hung up on my skinny and shapeless calves that I have thought no way could I wear ankle boots with skinnies. Seems I'm wrong! Grin
