Ah ha, was about to go looking for the previous thread so thank you.

Like the jeggings and the green tunic. Floral dress will make me look old and frumpy and jeans might make me look like mutton dressed as lamb - I'm a confused 51 who still acts feels like she's 30 :)

I really need some decent, warm long-sleeve t-shirts. Got all mine out as the weather is cooler and they all finish half way up my forearms apart from one Wallis top I bought 30 years ago Shock and, unsurprisingly, that is now a little worn!

Actually need a complete wardrobe overhaul but will start with t-shirts.

Passthecake30 · 12/09/2013 11:49

Have you tried the long sleeve t's from next tall? Plus h&m are doing some reeeeeeaaaaaallly long tops this yr. I got a couple of boring basic vests yesterday that would be like dresses on my tiny friends :)

Gap uk has some good basics in tall range here www.gap.co.uk/browse/category.do?cid=98099&kwid=1&sem=false&preferredLocale=en_GB. The t-shirts are pretty good. So annoying they don't stock the full tall range like Gap US, which don't deliver to UK.

queenofdrama · 12/09/2013 18:02

I'm 6ft too. I find Primark's longsleeve stretchy t-shirts surprisingly fit & wash really well. DP do jeans in a straight leg which are a nicer fit than the GAP ones IME. I LOVE Fat Face Pass. I've been eyeing out that jumper in the first link, in green though. I bought some basic longer vests from h&m yesterday, for layering mainly & after wearing one today, am impressed. What footwear are you planning on wearing this A/W?

reggiebean · 12/09/2013 18:05

Have you looked at ME+EM? They have great shirts for layering that are long and so soft...

Passthecake30 · 13/09/2013 10:43

I have a coup,e of pairs of cowboy boots from clarks from last year and they are sooooo comfy and not worn so I'll be wearing them. They are a bit like this

www.clarks.co.uk/p/20356666

Also have some M&S boots from last yr that aren't worn so will wear them for work, a bit like this

www.clarks.co.uk/p/20355407

I always get shoes in next, M&S or clarks as I am a 6.5 and prefer the half size ifykwim.

Also have loafers and ballet flats....was considering brogues but feel like my style of clothes wouldn't match my shoes!

Wow those tops look long at 'me&em (and some are downright expensive!)

OP posts:
MyChildDoesntNeedSleep · 13/09/2013 11:34

I'm 5'10 but I don't seem to struggle to find things that fit properly Confused

Passthecake30 · 13/09/2013 13:21

Mychilddoesnotsleep.....some of my family are 5ft9/10 and they don't have problems either....I think once we hit over 33" leg there starts the problem

OP posts:
TheAlphaandtheOmega · 13/09/2013 13:32

I'm 5'10 and the problem I get is sleeves being too short as my arms are disproportionately long also the waist falls in the wrong place. i'm fine with trousers though as I have a 33' leg.

I hadn't realised that GAP do tall, though probably only online like most the other shops that do tall ranges Sad, so thanks quertina. i will have a look on there at some tops and cardigans

reggiebean · 13/09/2013 13:33

Passthecake30 Well worth the money though. It's great fabric, and they last for ages. I just bought a new maxi dress from them... And it's really, really long enough (not just when I bend my knees a bit!)

MrsMangoBiscuit · 13/09/2013 14:09

Hello. Just popping in to mark my place so I can find this thread again. I'm 6', pregnant with DD2, due to pop any day, and still just about squeezing into some of my pre-pregnancy size 18s. I slimmed down a lot before I got pregnant, and was just starting to sort out my wardrobe, so I'm really looking forward to doing just that once DD2 has been evicted.

My funds will be somewhat limited, so I'm going to try to buy a few good quality pieces, rather than lots of cheap stuff that will wear out, and slowly build on that. I like the look of those DP jeggings. They look very comfy, which is just what I'll need to start with! Are they reasonably long in the body too, Passthecake30?

qwertina · 13/09/2013 14:42

Sleeves come up very long on the Gap tops TheAlpha. Yes, unfortunately they are online only.
Tall Girls have a pop up show in Regent's Park tomorrow if anyone is in London. Their quality varies so it's a good opportunity to try the clothes on.
Has anyone had any success with Lands End tall range? I'm considering the Down Chalet coat for winter.

reggiebean · 13/09/2013 15:30

qwertina My mum loves Lands End (she's 6'1"), says it's the only place that does proper long sleeves.

Passthecake30 · 13/09/2013 18:52

The Dorothy Perkins are long enough in the body...about an inch or two under the belly button, just the way I like them.

Monsoon have a down coat that appears to be made for us this yr

uk.monsoon.co.uk/view/product/uk_catalog/mon_1,mon_1.5/4934570151

Arms and length long enough for me....though I'm waiting for the end of the month when vicking kids have their didriksons Mary (I spoke to a 6ft size 12 assistant on the other end...very helpful!)...though I'll get this if I change my mind
