Is this too bling?

Going to a glam hen do in London this week and am wearing black skinnies, black blazer with bunched up sleeves, shoe boots and this top www.oasis-stores.com/cold-shoulder-cut-out-top/tops/oasis/fcp-product/4490131920 - colour of top really suits me but outfit is quite plain so I wanted to add a statement necklace. Bought this in Zara as I thought it was very pretty but it is quite shiny so am starting to worry it is overkill. What do you think?

Oh and hair will be up in a big bun or chignon or something :)

It's a lovely necklace (might buy it myself!).

With the style of the top, and as your hair is going to be up, have you thought about a drop earrings and stacks of silver bangles combo as an alternative? You may find this 'balances out' your look a little as opposed to the whole focus being on your neck line.

I saw that necklace last week: really nice!

AngryFeet · 11/09/2013 00:33

I don't have pierced ears Specialbrew :) I did think about the bangle thing but since I am bottom heavy I thought it better to draw the eye upwards Grin. I know what you mean though. Hmm...

Also chances are I will wear the blazer all night so it looks more like a basic top with the sleeves covered up.

I agree with Special you can't just wear such a lovely necklace and not have bangles! :)

Have I missed the blazer? Anyway, sounds lovely to me.

Don't do the bun on top of head, you'll look like a drugs mule (joking about a previous thread). As one clever person on that thread said, she's doing her bun low at the back, like a ballerina, sounds lovely. :)

please don't delete my post for talking about other threads MNHQ

I love it all except for the bun on top of the head, as suggested a low bun will look better.

Not keen on bunching up the sleeves, unless you want lots of Don Johnson/Miami vice jokes!

AngryFeet · 11/09/2013 16:41

Ha ha Sunday! It just looks like I am going to work if not and I do look better in 3/4 length sleeves.

Can you fold instead of roll?

AngryFeet · 11/09/2013 16:55

Stupidly I grabbed one that has a white lining with a thin black stripe. It is supposed to be worn folded but outfit looks too fussy with it.

Sounds really nice to me, love the necklace. I would take jacket off though to show off the lovely top though.

Though!!
