I have a yearning for some new boots. I wear lots of dresses. What do you think of these?

maybe secret favourites?

Or

boring?

Or has anyone seen any others? I'm wondering if these two are a bit too short?

They would both be never if they didn't gape so much at the top.

I prefer these

I like the 4th pair and the 6th pair. It's so hard without seeing them on, I look at loads and then just overloaded!

I want to avoid that welly boot look.

I think the ones you linked will flap round your ankles a bit. If you look at the pic with the model they look oddly wide against her leg.

I'd go for a slightly neater leg like this

Twinklestein · 10/09/2013 22:03

The 4th one Sunday linked are the same ones as OP's second link.

TwinkleSparkleBling · 10/09/2013 22:04

I like them, do you think they'd work with dresses?

OP posts:
Twinklestein · 10/09/2013 22:15

I think those you probably could. I guess you'd have to try them.

There are gazillions of biker boots on that site - if you just put in 'biker boot' into the search box. Enough to make you go even more cross-eyed. Confused

SundaySimmons · 10/09/2013 22:18

Avoid the wide Gap leg ones.

Oops I did indeed post the same as the op ones!

The beauty of clarks is that they do half sizes. I ordered online into the store then tried them on and bought my ones.

Claryrocks · 10/09/2013 22:47

I love those black biker boots from clarks. Anyone got a pair? Can't decide between brown and black.

Eliza22 · 11/09/2013 09:04

OP! I wear mostly skirts and wooly tights in autumn winter but my knee high boots look to long IYKWIM? Glad to see this post.

SundaySimmons.... You seem to know what your talking about? Could the Orinocho Sash (Clarks) and the Clarks I,er Boot with buckles be WORN WITH A SKIRT? I'm 50. Will it look daft? I just want to be comfy and have something between sandals and full on high knee boots.

Or, maybe these from White Stuff?

Aargh! Clarks BIKER BOOT with buckles. The National Sugar ones? (IPad!)

Dobes · 11/09/2013 14:43

TwinkleSparkleBling I actually bought your secret faves sevenbootlane.com/collections/boots/products/adora-black-leather a couple of weeks ago and can say with absolute conviction that they are fabulous! Not too wide at the top at all....they must've used a super skinny model for the pic. Love them with my black skinnies and have even braved with bare legs and dresses (eek!) but think it's time for tights now....

Kezztrel · 11/09/2013 15:15

I really like these Dune ones. Love the zip backs.

NoGoatsToe · 11/09/2013 16:10

I have these in brown www.dune.co.uk/ransell-cleated-sole-leather-biker-boot-0040508590001484/ and - after a slight wobble worrying if they would look like wellies - I am really pleased with them.

GinOnTwoWheels · 11/09/2013 18:24

I'm looking for some new biker boots and like the clarks National Sugar ones best - story of my fecking life is that I'd most likely want a 7 and thats the only size they are out of stock on Sad. I have some similar clarks ones that I've worn to death over the past few years, but they Natiional Sugar ones have a better sole for grip in the winter (mine are completely smooth).

However, I might have to go and try on in shops as I sometimes need a 7.5 anyway.

I think biker boots look great with dresses, with leggings and cardis in the winter as well. I was a grunge girl as a teenager and haven't ever really grown out of it. Obv would work well with skinnies too.

I also like the Billy Bi ones from Zalando, but even though its free returns and free delivery,I'm a bit aprehensive about buying a brand I've never heard of from a shop I've never heard of, even though they say they are the UK's largest online wardrobe', although its not saying much that I've never heard of them really.

Phaedra11 · 11/09/2013 19:49

I recently bought the Clarks Orinoco Sash boots (second on Sunday's list) because they are just about respectable enough for me to wear to work, and have done so every day since the weather turned. They are a bit bland for biker boots though, so wouldn't necessarily recommend.

Eliza, they wouldn't work with all skirts though I have worn them with a tunic style dress and jeggngs. The effect is a bit rock chick which might not be what you want every day.

Notfootball · 11/09/2013 21:08

Ginon I bought the 7.5 in National Sugar and if you are a 7, I think you may find them a bit too big. I am a 7.5 so bought this size and even I find them slightly roomy (I tried the 7 and it was very snug).

GinOnTwoWheels · 11/09/2013 21:24

Thanks for the info Notfootball. I managed to find the European sizing on the Clarks website and I think it confirmed what you said.

I say I need a 7, but what I usually find is that I need a 41, which is usually a 7 but sometimes a 7.5 or an 8. I think the 7.5 is a 41.5 in this case, which would make it likely it is a 7 I need - I'll try the shops and keep an eye on the website to see if they get any more in.

If not, I think it might be time for a strongly worded email to Clarks as it is not acceptable IMHO for autumn/winter stuff to be selling out in early September.

TwinkleSparkleBling · 12/09/2013 19:29

Thanks for all your comments. I still really like the ones that Dobes has still. Good to know they aren't really baggy.

Now I have also seen another pair

Think I will order these two and see which I like best!

OP posts:
Twinklestein · 12/09/2013 19:46

Now those I really like. Much nicer than the 2 in the OP.

I don't get the thing with Clarks on at all

Eliza22 · 13/09/2013 07:29

I like those Mint Velvet ones. Lovely!

The "thing" with Clarks is, for me, they're more accessible to my pay packet!
