I'm clueless

I'd like ankle boots (low heel) or a "sensible shoe", to wear with skirts/dresses. I go straight from sandals into knee length boots every year because I have NOTHING in between. I wear just above knee length skirts/dresses with tights and cardies in autumn & winter. Yesterday, I tried brogues in Clarks and I looked like a geography teacher, circa 1973. I cant do heels really because of bone problems.

A "Hotter" she catalogue came through the door at the weekend and my DH condemned them all as "too organic/knit your own muesli" types. Apologies to those who LOVE them. I lust after them because they look amazingly comfy.

Help me? TIA

Your DH is correct in that most of the Hotter styles look rather frumpy, but there are one or two exceptions. However, the main thing about Hotter is they are incredibly comfortable - that's why old ladies love them!

Have you thought about getting a slightly larger shoe size, with room to wear thicker tights? I do this with my sports shoes, Size 5 for summer with thin socks and Size 6 for winter with thick socks.
