Properly waterproof coat needed

I'm very disappointed with my new Boden Rainy Day Mac - worn today in a heavy shower and it leaked massivelyHmm

I need a decent, fully waterproof coat for doing the school run in, preferably long line as I'm quite tall and I'm fed up with the tops of my trousers getting soaked, that doesn't cost the earth. Does such a thing exist?!?

Try seasalt clothing. Mine has a lovely pattern and is entirely waterproof Smile

Oh I know!! I bought a vintage Burberry trench recently but returned it as I wasn't convinced of its authenticity. I'm so sad, I thought I'd found the coat of my dreams - stylish, classic & completely waterproof. I don't want a padded or anoraky-type coat but don't know where to look now. :(

I looked at a Seasalt one in JL before I plumped for the Boden one. It had a small leaf pattern on, and looked lovely on the hanger, but awful on me unfortunately.

SOS Jensen. TK Maxx often stock them. Have also seen on eBay. They're that kind of rubbery material that is totally waterproof - not just showerproof, like Boden and a lot of Seasalt coats.

I really like the look of that one, Thewhitequeen. Is it quite long? Can't tell from picture. Also, what are the sizes like? I'm a 12-14 normally. ThanksSmile

I have a north face jacket I wore out in the rain today and got properly drenched from the waist down but stayed totally dry on top so as a brand I'd recommend them for function but I don't have a proper coat that fits the bill.

thewhitequeen, that jacket looks amazing, particularly love the beige. I'm a 10-12, is the sizing roomy would you say? Would like it to be reasonably fitted but also obviously would like to wear a jumper underneath so not sure whether small or medium would be better and it seems to be only available online.
