Which dress for a wedding (at a castle)?

I am 5ft 6, size 10/12, pale and blonde.

Oh no, I've ordered the 12. Haven't a clue what to wear. I've got a posh black shawl so could go black tights, shoes and shawl. Or go with Tethersend's suggestion of nude and gold.

Don't like shawls much tbh - I think a shawl would probably make even an amazing dress look frumpy.

Excellent. I hope it fits. Try on the black shawl with it, if it suits I'd go with that, mainly because I wouldn't have to spend any more money! Make sure you let us know what it looks like. Fab dress.

I was at a wedding recently, fairly fancy, lots of shawls/pashminas. I'm also not keen, but they were fine, served a purpose, venue was warm so they weren't used for long.

No, it's in Kent. It's not a wedding venue, it belongs to a family member of the bride.

Another good thing about the VW dress is that dh has a kilt tie to match.

HoF purple dress is lovely - a nice autumnal colour and if it's chilly you can wear leggings under the dress!

Something about the Aidan Mattox ones all looks cheap to me - even though they are not. Maybe it's just poor photography but the shinyness of the material looks wrong to me.

Beautiful VW dress! I love it and it is just perfect for the occasion. Gold accessories will go nicely with it. You can also choose them in nude (a bit more classic) or coral for the "energy". Even yellow as it was big trend recently (matching dark colors with bright yellow, color block style). Good thing with this dress is that you can probably add a belt if you are an hourglass shape like me
I would go for a short fitted jacket and a nice scarf and pack the pashmina so that you can add it if you are freezing. Those bloody castles are indeed very cold and Humid..!
