new boyfriend style jeans help

I'd like to try a range of this style of jeans. I am drawn to the looseness round the knee, where I am doughy and the tightness in the ankle where I am svelte. I will include the sexy boyfriends at Gap in my (probably not as much fun as I think it will be) denim mission. But where else should I take my excitement/debit card?

I am good for a Levi's kind of a budget but DON'T spare me your pricey beauties. I say this as someone who felt guilty like I'd murdered on buying late nineties Paige bootcuts but then living in them for 4 years solid. ie, I don't think expensive denim is a false economy.

Just received a pair of Current Elliott's boyfriend jeans, and am in Love (they are in the super love wash). Sooooo soft and comfortable. Worth every penny, as I scoured for the proper wash and fit for 2 years.

In desperation for a clean pair of jeans while at my SILS I picked up a pair in Tescos £16 and a brilliant fit, bit a style I'd normally go for, but they look great on ! ( I bought the ripped effect look )

wordassociationfootball · 08/09/2013 16:34

That's fantastic - talk about two ends of the spectrum - tesco £16, Current/Elliot £180 (which do look very nice). Are there any not ripped ones in Tesco? I want minal fading, and zero rip/distress)

DuchessFanny · 08/09/2013 16:55

Yep I saw a few in different washes and non ripped .. Would never normally think of Tescos for jeans, but they've washed really well so for £16 I'm feeling pretty good about it.

DuchessFanny · 08/09/2013 16:58

Oh and to add, I have little dumpling legs with marginally smaller ankles so thought I would never carry them off but they are MUCH more flattering than my skinny ASOS version !

MissOtisRegretsMadam · 08/09/2013 17:02

Just ordered these from very

wordassociationfootball · 08/09/2013 20:02

The Tesco ones look great from the front not quite as good from the back, but overall I'm impressed

Next Relaxed Skinnies fit the bill. I love them.

Laska42 · 08/09/2013 21:49

I just got a fab pair of 'boy' jeans in the Dorothy Perkins sale. only £15.. i dont usually go there , but really they are the best fitting jeans ive ever had .. (im a size 10 but straight up and down but slim hips) great because they are slim leg but not tight around the knee and calf ( which i hated with skinnies ) Maybe worth a look?

Twinklestein · 08/09/2013 21:54

I'm a big believer in designer jeans - J Brand, Citizens of Humanity, Current Elliot are my favs. However - when it comes to boyfriend jeans I think that Levi's vintage are best. I'm 42 & I wore them the first time round in the 80s...

TKMaxx is great for jeans. I got a really fab pair of Levi's vintage skinnies with a high rise for £25 this summer!

Tommy Hilfiger a good medium price brand.

wordassociationfootball · 09/09/2013 12:38

Twinklestein, I love Levis. Have Curve in straight and skinny. The boyfriends I saw on their site were great from the front but had really silly bleached out knee creases on the back. Will look instore though.
My two nearest TKMaxx's are never that good for jeans...

PrimalLass thanks! Next relaxed skinnies look great.

I have ordered these in grey and dark wash Couldn't see the back of the grey completely, and fear they might be a bit big bleachy patch but will see.

Also Asos Brady's which I found all on my own!

I may just go for the Tesco ones too. If nothing works I'm Selfridging.

Can I ask what you wear on your feet with these jeans? All the pics have bloody high heels. I cant walk in bloody high heels.

wordassociationfootball · 09/09/2013 14:46

Will be flat all the way here. Hope it will work.

I worded my post really badly.

The hi-rise Levi's I got from TKMaxx this summer were vintage style.

The boyfriend jeans I like more than any other are proper vintage Levi's 501s ie second hand & worn in. You can pick them up on ebay - like these & these

Reporting back!

The Next vintage relaxed skinnies were hopeless on me. The 12s were OK on the legs but like maternity wear round the stomach and waist. The 10s were just stretchy tight, that feel you get when you're going to spend the whole time hoiking them up. So they went back.

The Tesco ones were no good in ways I can't now recall.

Asos Brady's in 12 were surprisingly large. Sent for a 10 which have just arrived (I am btw very much a 12). these

They are keepers. Soft, comfortable (rather will be when I put less baggy pants on), subtly washed, kind to bulgy tummy, nice old style button fly. I like. Job's a good 'un.
