zara

I like that it isn't shiny
I like that it's 100% cotton
I like that it doesn't have shiny brass buttons
I like that it has a warm detachable checked lining
I like that it is really well made
I like that it was less than £80

Take that M&S

Nice one! That's a really good buy.

MarshaBrady · 04/09/2013 10:23

So do I. Very nice!

Lonelynessie · 04/09/2013 10:26

Yep, I like it too and it's now on my list of thing to buy ASAP.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 04/09/2013 10:27

Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut it's not PINK

I want a pink coat.
I tried a pink jacket on in Uniqlo. I thought I looked like a huge tandoori prawn fab.

DD said it was "pouffy" (I think she meant puffy ) Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 04/09/2013 10:28

And yes, the coat is lovely.
Did you go for beige or black?

WildThongsHeartString · 04/09/2013 10:37

I got black as i'll probably wear it most for work and any lighter colours I had previously got manky (public transport etc). I swithered though as the other one is lovely too.
It's nice with jeans and boots as well.

That is lovely. But for me I prefer single breasted not double.

lowra · 04/09/2013 19:36

Vair nice.

bishboschone · 04/09/2013 19:44

Love it !!

RaisingArizona · 04/09/2013 20:30

Yes, but if you'd got a coat from M&S you could have got one with lots of lovely embroidery on it, a massive hood that wouldn't stay on your heads, pockets in places you couldn't get your hands near, strange buttons and/or zips and enough shine for it to double up as a mirror. And you might even bump into Tracey Emin wearing the very same one and that would mean you were uber cool like a Brit pop artist dontcha know. I hope you don't live to regret getting the Zara one :)

RaisingArizona · 04/09/2013 20:31

'head' I mean. I don't think M&S have branched out into coats with two hoods yet. They're probably considering it though.

RubyLovesShopping · 04/09/2013 20:47

Would buy that if it were navy! Beige washes me out and black does too, shame!

LapsedGoth · 04/09/2013 20:56

Nice! Bargain! 100% cotton! Not usually a Zara fan but this might make me venture in.

holidaybug · 04/09/2013 21:57

Would be perfect if it had a hood. I don't understand why, with the weather we have, coats don't come with a hood as standard.

Curleyhazel · 04/09/2013 23:50

Can i ask what colour the lining is?

ProtectiveMother · 05/09/2013 10:22

Em... Don't slag Tracey Emin. And she's not a 'pop' artist either :-)

ProtectiveMother · 05/09/2013 10:24

Ps holidaybug yes. Really need a nice hooded waterproof mac. Any suggestions please suggest :-) (I dont like 'toggles' and I do like fitted ones with belts. Especially one for a tall person!

WildThongsHeartString · 05/09/2013 11:13

curley the lining is a natural colour with kind of large reddish check pattern. It feels wooly (but it's not wool) and is a long waistcoat shape attached to the main coat by zips.

If it had a hood it would have been 100% perfect as mentioned above, but I have never been able to find a really nice hooded coat that ticked my other boxes.

Love that coat! What's the sizing like? Am 10-12 but you can never predict Zara sizing!

noddyholder · 05/09/2013 12:02

Love it All the colourful coats will be out of fashion by xmas Even primark has a hideous pink monstrosity. Anything the Daily Mail tells us is 'feminine' is surely a no no

WildThongsHeartString · 05/09/2013 19:15

Well I am fat generously made, Zara is always small on me. I am a 16 in all other shops but as I will probably be wearing other layers or even a light jacket under this (to work) I bought the 18 and its perfect. Eek!
