I am complete hair dye novice so bear with me! At the beginning of the summer holidays I let my teenage daughter dye the ends of her hair pink. Her best friends mum did it with 6-20 washes hair dye! All hunkydory, looked quite nice. Fast forward to school today, she had most cut out with a trim but she has a few faded pink bits left! School have picked up and want it out! What do I do? She has blonde hair, very blonde on top layers, more honey blonde underneath! I can't get any 'colour before' tonight so have been advised to dye the pink a mid brown! But I'm really petrified its gonna go a ridiculous colour! Any ideas on the best way to sort!

Have you tried something like head and shoulders or washing up liquid to remove the remaining colour? Go swimming? chlorine strips all hair colour out!

Vosene shampoo and conditioner.

A hairdresser told me to wash my hair with it everyday for a week to try and strip out a build up of hair dye before she attempted to dye it a lighter colour.

Or can you get a blonde hair dye from anywhere?

Nit treatment strips out colour, I know rather too well.

Thanks for the advice, we went and bought a light brown and cut a bit of pink out and did a strand test! Phew, it looks ok! Scariest 30 mins of my life .... Almost!

She refused nit treatment! We've just come back from Provence with her swimming everyday for 10 days. It was still pink!!
