My local hairdressers would charge me £44! So can I do it myself? My hair is long enough and fairly thick. How would I do it? I always struggle to get kirby grips to stay in so the quiff might be hard. How do you get curls like that?

Shit loads of hairspray, I would imagine.

A pair of spiral curling tongs..do it in smallish sections. You might need a friend to get the quiff just right tho and as nomorecrumbs says..shit loads of hairspray Grin

I've done the curls and they drop (my hair is thick and long) without it.

Kirby grips upside down.

I'd get a curling wand and a ton of hair spray

You will need to backcomb the top of your hair to get enough body for it to stay up when you pin it up.
For the curls I would use my ghds and twist them round the sections into ringlets as you pull the blades thro your hair. You might want to YouTube that I don't think I have explained it very well!

Also criss-cross the kirby grips into an X shape to keep them from slipping.

This video might help with the bouffant bit.
