The M&S Pink Coat

I mentioned this on a pink coat thread a while back, a and finally got to try it today. I was a bit disappointed.

On the plus side it is a most beautiful shade of pink, nicely cut, the detailing on the pockets is very well done.

But, it is huge, I tried a 10 and think I would need a 6! The fabric is a polyester mix, and feel a bit icky and doesn't look or feel remotely warm so for me it would be an early autumn/late spring coat.

I didn't buy it, but might consider a smaller size just for the colour alone.

I've looked every where for that damn coat. It's not in my store. Where did you try it on.? It wasnt ontheir website last night!

I ordered today! Usually am a 12 but got a 10 so sort of glad to hear it is definitely loose fitting... It arrives tomorrow so will report back on my findings.

Orange I'm in Dublin, it's on the website
here, but seems to be gone in the deeper pink, it was there yesterday.

Yes, they only have size 20 left Angry

thecatfromjapan · 03/09/2013 18:49

Oh well.

On the plus side ... if they've sold that many, you'll be running the risk of meeting your coat-twin out and about whenever you wear it ...

bishboschone · 03/09/2013 20:27

If it's the one in the press it's oversized so suppose to be big .

chartreuse · 03/09/2013 21:10

It's not just oversized, it's positively voluminous

I was really put off by the fabric composition. The colour is very pretty, though.

bishboschone · 03/09/2013 21:42

I'm little and can't do oversized however many sizes I go down . Marks is always a size bigger in coats anyway I find .

SundaySimmons · 03/09/2013 22:29

I didn't see the pink one today but I tried on two grey ones and one tweedy brown one. All in a size ten and all were too big on me. I think it may be that they allow for thick jumpers underneath. But I am not a size 8 or 6 and it seems the sizing is daft.

peasandlove · 04/09/2013 06:02

It was in the daily mail.. That'll be why its sold out

I shot down to M&S yesterday to try it on as i'd had my eye on it since the previews. I completely agree - the fit is really big! i'm a 16/18 (18 for winter coats what with bulky stuff on underneath) and the 14 was fine.

I loved the colour and the fabric, but the fit was just not flattering on me. Made me look huge.

I ended up buying the buttermilk one which i would link to, but doesn't seem to be on their website. it's a nice colour and a much more flattering fit. And at £99 for wool & cashmere, it seems good value too.

oversomeniagara · 04/09/2013 09:31

Looks like I will not be getting the cost... Got an email saying there was a delay but when I contacted them my order had automatically been cancelled as they discovered it was outofstock! What a joke. They are getting more in stock but due to auto cancelation i woud have to go through the whoe damn process of ordering again. I'm absolutely livid.
