Oil pulling - if you do it, I have a question for you

I saw this mentioned on a thread, then read up on it online. Sounded great so gave it a go (with coconut oil) but after about 3 days I had really sore spots at the base of my tongue.

I couldn't find anything about side effects like these on line. Stopped doing it but spots have now migrated to the tip of my tongue and are still really sore a week on.

Anyone experienced this too? Any advice??

TIA

I do the oil thing first. Then I have the first of several cups of tea, eat breakfast, shower and do teeth in that order.

Thanks for all the responses. Yes, I am not interested for the wildly OTT claims but rather the mouth hygeine stuff, whiter teeth, pinker gums etc. Really annoying that I have had that reaction when no one else has

I will try it again and be v thorough with the rinsing after. Apparently it is good to tongue scrape too! I could only manage 5 mins for DC reasons too.
