Desperately need a foundation that gives me full cover (from redness) Blushthat isn't making my skin too dry. (New job and lots of presentations etc).

Currently using Estée Lauder double wear light and feel like it is too sticky. I am usually quiet dry around my cheeks and chin. Thank you xx

Bobbi Brown moisturising full cover foundation (in a glass bottle without a pump). Has lasted me for ages and I'm not particularly careful with it but I've had many comments on it and I've tried every foundation going including MAC, Benefit, Estée Lauder, Clinique etc and it is by far my best foundation!

Thanks baby Smile

I don't like Doublewear Light, it just isn't right somehow. I have used the full fat Doublewear which is a bit matt but I found that better and used to mix it with a bit of moisturiser if I wanted to thin it a bit.

Some people say they get good results with the mineral powder foundations but I have never mastered them myself

The double wear light is really sticky when it dries I think.

Is the redness from rosacea? If so, apparently greeny-coloured makeup can neutralise the red colour of the skin. I don't know much about it but I heard it on mumsnet.

I don't think so free, I just get red when I either get embarrassed or have to stand and talk in front of people Hmm

Estee Lauder double wear light is sheer coverage. And it does feel a bit sticky until it sets on the skin - which for me is a couple of minutes.

If you want full coverage, then there's Dermablend, Estee Lauder double wear, Revlon Colorstay, Laura Mercier has one too, Mac have a couple of full coverage foundations.

For a more natural look, you might want to go for a sheer to medium foundation in the areas where you don't need full coverage, and then either a full coverage foundation or good concealer on the areas you need to be covered more.

I use EL standard DoubleWear; I find that the light version just sits on top of the skin. I don't have alternatives to suggest except warn you against MAC's oil free foundation; it's awful.

Revlon Colourstay is good.

Laura Mercier Silk Creme is a good one for dry skin.

Stila the last all day foundation with concealer. It's brilliant lasts all day even in extreme humidity and high temperatures.

I can't fault Rimmel 25hr foundation. This is from a makeup snob!

valiumredhead · 02/09/2013 17:24

You need bare minerals and their concealor too, marvellous stuff.

Recently tried Clinique Even Better and Estée Lauder Doublewear.

Both are great. Would say that the Estée Lauder foundation is slightly thicker and fuller coverage so superb for evening and Clinique is better for day.
