How does this polyvore malarkey work with pinterest then?

I have seen a lot of board are created in polyvore and then posted. I went on polyvore but it just seems to be an online retailer. Can someone enlighten me?

Polyvore is more like a pinning tool- you put together items of clothing into a 'look' that is a composite picture. People viewing can then click through to the retailer if they like an item, though tbh most of the items I've been interested in seem to be from previous seasons and are sold out.
You can search by item (see how others would wear it) or by colour etc.
It's a little like pinterest in that you can spend hours on there, clicking through from one initial picture to many, many more...
