I treated myself to a Mac liquid eyeliner, and it's brilliant and stays put all day. Only problem is, it's a bugger to clean off at the end of the day. any budget suggestions for a cleaner? As much under a tenner as possible please.

Body Shop camomile eye makeup remover. Cannot be beaten. I have been using it for 20 years.

CointreauVersial · 30/08/2013 23:55

Boots Essentials Cucumber Eye Makeup Remover.

It's a gel in a big green bottle, and I think costs around £2. Brilliant stuff.

Canihavesomemore · 31/08/2013 00:27

Baby oil or coconut oil!

applecrumbleandcream · 31/08/2013 00:31

Simple !!....Simple SmileSmile

Karbea · 31/08/2013 01:43

Simple is brilliant

LeoandBoosmum · 31/08/2013 01:50

I've heard good things about Waitrose/ John Lewis' own eye make up remover, I think it's called Pure. It's about £1.99 and in a semi transparent white bottle. I think it'd only work for non-waterproof though.
Here's a link to it on Waitrose's site...you can also see ingredients:

I like the l'oreal micellar water

Sophiedotty · 31/08/2013 03:01

I use Simple, no irritation & not too expensive.

AmericasTorturedBrow · 31/08/2013 03:05

Seconding body shop camomile - think its about £7? But only remover I've stuck to, used it for 15 years, gentle, non greasy, non creamy, it's amazing

NewGirlInTown · 31/08/2013 03:15

Another Body Shop Camomile devotee here. The best I have ever used and the price is amazing.

Spottypurse · 31/08/2013 05:37

The simple one is great and it's on 3 for 2 in tescos at the minute.

Longdistance · 31/08/2013 05:45

I swear by the Nivea eye make up remover. I've been using it for about 20 years. Seems to last ages, and takes my eye make up off brilliantly.

dolallymum · 31/08/2013 06:02

Superdrugs eye make up remover.
Put a small amount on cotton wool, place and hold for about 10 seconds, then wipe.

peasandlove · 31/08/2013 06:54

I 2nd the superdrug one.. when I moved back to NZ I took 4 bottles of it with me.. cheap as chips

TheBeanAndTheBee · 31/08/2013 07:42

Boots botanicals one that you shake and mix. As good as the similar but far more pricey Lancôme one.

MaureenDaly · 31/08/2013 09:13

Boots Essentials. Either the green gel mentioned earlier OR the blue lotion which is also about £1.50.
I downshifted from the Lancome Bi Facil which I've been using for several years but hated the cost of, and prefer both of these to that one, although the cucumber one can leave my eyes a tiny bit watery.

Ujjayi · 31/08/2013 09:50

Body Shop Aloe Cleanser is very effective & very gentle. It is the first cleanser not to leave my eyes feeling tired or sensitive - particularly after liquid eyeliner removal.

I also rate coconut oil but not as effective as the Aloe cleanser.

MrsDavidBowie · 31/08/2013 09:52

I like Nivea...always on a 3 for 2 in Boots.
I have very sensitive eyes and it doesn't irritate.

thepurplepenguin · 31/08/2013 10:05

Waitrose Pure is AMAZING

missbopeep · 31/08/2013 13:41

L'Oreal- Tesco has it on offer at the moment for something like £1.70

Belindaearl2 · 31/08/2013 18:23

Someone here recommended garner Essentials.

Belindaearl2 · 31/08/2013 18:26

Garnier

HazeltheMcWitch · 31/08/2013 18:46

I always answer Body Shop Camomile - the liquid one, not the gel - to this question. I too have used it for decades years, have tried others but have always returned.

But when I went to repurchase a month or so ago, it was out of stock, as it was being reformulated. They'd not get any more in for 2-3 weeks. So I tried Garnier Fresh Essentials (a diff one to the prev 2 posters), and I think I prefer it !

revolvenotevolve · 31/08/2013 19:03

Coconut oil

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 31/08/2013 19:06

Waitrose Pure is good. have been using the L'Oreal Micellar stuff and like it a lot too.
