Oh god! I've been invited to have tea at the ritz as a last minute cancellation. I have accepted but I don't know what to wear!! How dressed up would you be? And what would you wear? Aargh..

You can wear pretty much anything except they aren't keen on trainers and plimsoll type footwear for either gender. (Friend was not allowed in even though hers were Kurt Geiger and £100.

Most women wear smart day dresses, knee length not maxi, skirts and tops/cardis- usual stuff. It's not OTT- I've been in wearing 'normal' smartish summer day wear.

Think court shoes or closed toe shoes rather than fitflops or really open sandals, but apart from that you don't need to go OTT.

No jeans of any colour either. Last time I was there I wore black peg trousers, nice ballet pumps, a fine knit jumper with a statement necklace.
