Where to get good socks for boots?

Quite a lot of the boots I've seen people wearing on Pinterest have socks peeping over the top - whether knee-highs with an inch showing, or ankle boots with them rouched down. They tend to look quite textured/woolly.

Anyone know where to get some?

M and s do long thermal wool ones in winter. Haveyou tried there?
