Mummies who don't want to get their hair wet in the swimming pool.
I'm really cross win myself and sad as I actually like swimming and want to go in with the children. But the thought of having to spray, dry and straighten my hair afterwards (2 hours) is pretty much prohibitive.
I'd looooove for swimming hats to come (back ?) into fashion. Bring on the big flowery ones!

"Op ignore the massive sense of humour failure on here."

Oh was she joking? Ah, well that makes a bit more sense then, than avoiding swimming due to needing to spend two hours doing hair because swimming hats aren't fashionable...

Do you really spend 2 hours on your hair

TwelveLeggedWalk · 28/08/2013 10:08

On non swimming days?

Are you rapunzel?

I wouldn't know what to do for that long!

Kezztrel · 28/08/2013 10:11

I think those flowery swimming hats look really glam - like an old fashioned synchronised swimmer Grin Get one OP!

i heard this woman saying to her daughter
" oh no, now my hair is wet I will have to go and wash it"
after a 10 minute dip in the pool

makealist · 28/08/2013 10:57

Believe it is sea water you have to avoid if you have had a brazilian blow dry, not chlorinated water.

"Are you rapunzel?"

Yes, if a normal hair day involves two hours, surely it's time for a revision of choice of haircut/style...?

My DD calls that weird turtle-head breast stroke thing that some women do to keep their hair dry 'granny stroke'

InMyShreddies · 28/08/2013 12:07

I have bleached hair and manage to take toddler DS swimming without getting my hair wet - I just scrape it all into a bun and avoid splashing louts.

I do think you should have a quicker 'acceptable hair' option that doesn't take you two hours though! No-one needs to spend that long. Wash it after if you need to, but then just scrape it into a high looped ponytail and put some quick makeup on and a naice scarf. It's easy to obsess about having always-perfect hair, but that will look absolutely fine and it would be good for your hair to have a rest from being constantly heat styled, I'm guessing. I do feel your pain though - I used to GhD my hair every single day, but now as a SAHM I don't wash it as often and it is fine, I rarely straighten it and it's in so much better condition. Just compensate with other stuff like a bright lippy and a scarf if you need to, and something quick like a BB cream.

Ledkr, glad you understand. Ok 2 hours is a humorous (meant to be) exaggeration. Lol
