Sports Bra recommendations please - what/where?

Where's the best place to buy a sports bra - is it the likes of Adidas or would M&S/John Lewis be best. Maybe neither of those two! Something suitable for the small of nork - into week 3 of The Shred and sick of wearing my good, under-wired lngerie with straps slipping.

Thanks

Have tried lots and always arrive back with shock absorber bras - they may not be the most glamorous (although I think smaller sizes are better) but they are really good (i use for running/high impact classes). Can get easily on line if you know your size - or John lewis stock them. I've got one really nice vest top with built in bra i love.

FrickingFracking · 26/08/2013 21:28

I am a B cup and I wear a Shock Absorber, like this one but in black. It is very good, nothing moves!

DorsetLass · 26/08/2013 21:30

Also try here:www.boobydoo.co.uk/ they stock all makes. Good luck minimising the bounce!

GrimmaTheNome · 26/08/2013 21:32

Yup, Shock Absorber. I got mine from JJB or sports direct - one of those sort of sports shops.

Mehrida · 26/08/2013 21:41

Another vote for shock absorber. You'll never regret it.

MrsMcGregor · 26/08/2013 22:05

Gosh, unanimous! Thank you. Like the bra you linked to Fricking and will order it now. Thanks all, didn't think it would be so easy!!

Can I just check that you are absolutely certain about your bra size?

MrsMcGregor · 26/08/2013 22:20

What's the sizing like ladies? Some reviewers say they had to size up. Did you all just order your usual size?

OP posts:
MrsMcGregor · 26/08/2013 22:22

Sorrel - yes, was fitted not too long ago but not sure whether I need to size up or not.

Glad you like the bra, it is lovely. I did size up now you mention it, just in cup size though, not in band, I tried on loads in the sports shop.

CelticPromise · 26/08/2013 22:28

Fitted where MrsMcGregor? Lots of shops are pretty rubbish at fitting and straps slipping down indicates too big in the back.

Shock Absorbers come up small I believe.

I recommend the Panache sports bra, keeps everything in check without monoboob.

cardamomginger · 26/08/2013 22:30

Shock Absorber is great. I'm also quite impressed with the run bra from Sweaty Betty.

EagleRay · 26/08/2013 22:33

Another recommendation for Shock Absorber here - thanks to having had a baby in Jan, am doing The Shred with F cups Blush Thankfully they don't move an inch despite the jumping jacks...

I find the sizing a bit more forgiving than normal bras - just took a bit of a guess when ordering as my boobs keep changing size at the moment...

MrsMcGregor · 26/08/2013 23:11

Celtic - specialist lingerie shop. It fits well - the shoulder straps only slip with jumping jacks Grin. Will check out the Panache bra.

Fricking interesting. I'm in a 32C - not sure whether to go up or not. Might order C and D to compare.

Thanks again.

Hmmm, I usually find that sports bras come up smaller in the band.

Littlepumpkinpie · 27/08/2013 00:09

Shock Absorber and Panache are what I use Did have some from M&S and found them rubbish.

MissDD1971 · 27/08/2013 15:57

Shock Absorber. they do 30 backs too. amazing, they wash well and support the norks.

MrsMcGregor · 27/08/2013 17:30

Finally found the Shock Absorber bra which Frick linked to in my size (and in the purple/pink colour way) and have ordered it. Hope it comes before the weekend - excited about a bra Hmm

Oops, meant to add on a thank you for all the recommendations.

I have the one that Frick linked to (in black) and it's doing a good job of supporting my 30J boobs through the Shred and Couch to 10k. I found it a little small fitting but not uncomfortably so - I like 'em squashed down and immobile! Enjoy!
