Bra question (but not about sizes)

I binned my entire bra collection a while ago and started again with my new size - thanks bra gurus Smile. With my new bras, is it wearing them that makes the band evetually stretch or washing them in the machine?

I'm still bf, so none of my bras have underwires, but have stretched to the point of unwearability (and I wash them in the machine on 40). I've just brought a new one so is handwashing the way forward or shall I accept that bras eventually stretch?

They all stretch eventually, regardless of how carefully you wash them. When you buy them try them on on the last hook (i.e. the broadest back size). Then as they stretch out you can use the other hooks to make it tighter again.

I do bras on the handwash cycle and don't find mine stretch at all. But then I don't buy them super tight on the band. My favourite brand is Simone Perele which are quite expensive but last very well.

I was thinking I'd have to start wearing my bra on the next clasp in as it was starting to feel a bit loose round the band. I accidentally tumble dried it and it's now fine again! Normally machine wash at 30 with everything else then hang in the doorknob of the utility room next to the tumble drier!

They do stretch eventually I'm afraid. I try to handwash mine but I confess they often end up in a laundry bag on a hand wash setting. Don't use Fabric Softener though. it's very bad for them.

Please tell me you gave them to charity & didn't put them in the actual bin!

Bras are very sought after for charity clothing for less developed countries.
