What colour should I dye my scarf?

I have a lovely big half wool, half silk scarf that I want to dye as it's a gross colour atm.

My winter coat is navy wool but I'd also like it to go with my black leather biker jacket. So: bright pink, bright red, pine green, or some shade of bright or navy blue?

My clothes tend to be navy/burgundy/grey/black, so maybe I need a bright scarf?

I was going to suggest navy, before I read the full post or a bright pink would be nice Smile

I do love navy scarves but navy coat and scarf maybe a bit dull? I'm most tempted by bright pink but worried I'll go off it!

Magenta!

Kezztrel · 25/08/2013 11:48

That would be lovely but I don't think Dylon do a magenta! It's either flamingo pink or tulip red in the red/pink spectrum :(

What colour is the scarf right now? I think Dylon can then guide you on what outcome is possible ie there's a grid saying what you can dye your original colour to?

Kezztrel · 25/08/2013 11:52

It's a very pale greyish cream. Will check out their guide :)

Hopefully you have lots of options w that colour. Not like starting from mustard, for instance.

And I need to dye a scarf so please keep us updated.

Will do! It's going to involve lots of stirring because you have to use the hand dye with wool/silk. The machine dyes are amazing, I've been dying everything lately :)

Dark purple

Kezztrel · 25/08/2013 13:37

That would also be lovely but Dylon don't do a dark purple. The only choices I have are the ones I listed in my OP.

Good to know - I will start researching for dying my drab wool scarf.
