Recommendations?

I've seen L'Oreal advertised online but can't find them in my small-ish Boots.

Any other choices and not costing ££££s?

Bet you watched "How not to get old" Grin, so did I, googled the shampoos at the time, bit Shock at the prices.

missbopeep · 22/08/2013 14:26

ha ha ha! Yup!

missbopeep · 22/08/2013 14:27

Which ones did you find then?

Jason's is reasonably priced. Should be available in local
Health store.

Pinebarrens · 22/08/2013 14:27

my tesco sells the l'oreal one.

BeCool · 22/08/2013 14:28

Green People
Naked from Boots (I think)

ILikeToClean · 22/08/2013 14:36

The L'oreal one is called Hair Expertise and it is a good range, but probably only available in larger stores. Another good one to try is the Naked range. Both of these come on offer quite regularly if you get to a larger Boots, so doesn't make it too expensive. I think you can tell the difference -my hair feels silkier and smoother and don't tend to use as much. HTH.

NewNameforNewTerm · 22/08/2013 14:36

Yes To

I use this range. Think it got good reviews in the Beauty Bible too.

Elliptic5 · 22/08/2013 14:38

Burts bees and Avalon organics come to mind, don't know who sells them. Actually probably not that much more than my loreal professional range.

Yonihadtoask · 22/08/2013 14:44

The Green people - shampoo is great. It seems pricey, but you use only a teeny bit each time - so works out much better value.

Also love Naked shampoo (and shower gels). Significantly cheaper.
Can purchase in Boots - or direct from their own website.

Yonihadtoask · 22/08/2013 14:47

Also Dr Organics range from Holland & Barrett.

The Moroccan Argan Oil is lovely.

yellowballoons · 22/08/2013 14:48

what is wrong with sls?

Elliptic5 · 22/08/2013 14:50

Actually it does depend on how much you need to use, that's why I don't mind paying for my shampoo - I use so little it lasts for ages and I hide it when my daughter comes home.

dirtyface · 22/08/2013 14:50

i was going to start the same thread, saw how not to get old last night

apparently SLS can make your hair fall out, how worrying

missbopeep · 22/08/2013 14:52

Thank you!

My local Waitrose sells a lot of posh shampoos but without getting a magnifying glass out to read the labels , I don't know where to start.

tell me about Moroccan Argan Oil- I bought the serum/oil but is MAO a brand or do you mean generic argan oil? Bit confused on this one as I seem to think there are loads of 'argan oil' products.

Every year at this time I get a flaky scalp- it's then the seasons start to change ( weird but true) so I think it's time to change shampoos and also I knew yonks ago that SLS was bad for your skin etc- so seems like a good time to try. I only need wash my hair ever 3-4 day so cost is not a massive issue- just didn't want to be forking out £15 for something- but £5 -ish quite ok.

Organix at Boots £5.99 each.

Loreal Everstrong 2 for £9 Superdrug. So you could get the Shampoo & Conditioner.

also watched the programme & googled all night

Callmedreckly · 22/08/2013 15:43

Loreal Everstrong is 2 for £9 at boots Blush

GW297 · 22/08/2013 15:45

Liz Earle, The Green People or Naked (from Boots.)

PoppyAmex · 22/08/2013 15:45

This is amazing and the smell is out of this world.

I take it to the hairdressers (did keratin treatment, so can't use their products) and both the hairdressers and the clients comment on the smell.

missbopeep · 22/08/2013 16:48

Looks like it's Organix or Naked then. Waitrose have the former- I assumed the Brazilian was people with wavy hair but maybe not? My hair is fine and fairly normal but I'd tend to go more for a product for dryer hair as I an fair with blonde highlights.

Onetwothreeoops · 22/08/2013 16:52

Look for happy hair days as well. I don't know if waitrose have it but sainsburys do. I think it's £3.99, they have conditioners at the same price too.

It's good stuff.

gaggiagirl · 22/08/2013 16:59

I love the L'Oreal ones I've tried quite a few I find I don't need to wash my hair as often as I did before changing to sls free.
Treseme do one too that's very little £££s

Doearwigsmakechutney · 22/08/2013 19:40

L'oreal everstrong is great. If you order through Boots online, they'll deliver instore for free (if you spend more than £20). I bulk ordered when there was a 3 for 2 deal. I use it since having a Brazilian blow dry. The scent is lovely.

BeCool · 22/08/2013 20:25

I think the Green People shampoo is quite simply the best shampoo I've ever used.

It is pricey though.
