October Outdoor(ish) Wedding - What On Earth To Wear??

I'm a S&B virgin but have heard very good things about you all....don't disappoint me Wink

So DCous is getting married on a farm, in a tent (think festival style).....in October, here's hoping for an Indian summer!

Anyway, a formal Coast style dress won't really fit the theme, and a floaty summer dress will probably be off limits due to not wanting to freeze my ass off....so what the blardy hell does one wear??

Crikey. Some kind of tea dress or 50s shape dress with opaques and a (thick) cardigan? Will there be heaters? I went to an evening do in a barn in May a couple of years ago and it was INSANELY cold. Take plenty of pas minas and drink lots Grin

What's your budget?

If money were no object, I'd do a maxi like this with thermal long johns underneath and a short fur coat.

Not sure about the heater situation Hopefully, I certainly hope so! Am now off to etsy/ebay 50's dresses, do you think wedge shoes would be OK with a 50's dress...it being in a farm and all that I don't think heels would be a good idea Confused

We got married the last weekend in October, and the weather was amazing. Warm an sunny! Guests were in stroppy and strapless dresses an no one was cold.

Granted that might just have been all my luck for 5 or so years used up, but I'd have some options for the day.

IKnewHouseworkWasDangerous very pinup! I need bigger boobs with that one I think, did find this on the website though and already have a petticoat at home so that could be an idea

This would work well with a vintage pendant necklace and fur coat.

was that last year Boosiehs? We had a lovely october in 2012.

I think the 50s thing is a really good idea, as looks just as pretty and not compromised by opaques and cardigan - so many 'pretty' dresses are going to look odd! Plus the petticoat will act as insulation...

Look at the sale circle dresses £55! I sooooo covet a Vivien of Holloway dress. In fact I am going to use one as incentive to lose weight.

I know Iknew they're amazing aren't they, thinking of the silver coloured one
