La Roche Posay or Avene?

Ok, giving Clarins a break, was going to try LRP as a lot of people recommend it. However, Avene has also been rec'd to me.

Does anybody have experience of both or can vote for either?

Thanks v much.

I use lrp for facewash and avene face cream if that helps!

I've no experience of LRP but I love Avene - I've been a devotee for years. I have dry, sensitive skin and use the cold cream bar, no-rinse tissue-off cleanser, anti-rougeur cream and Tolerance Extreme cream.

JennySense · 20/08/2013 21:23

I think LRP has a better range - I think it's going to depend on your skin type though tbh - check out the two companies over at www.paulaschoice.com/beautypedia/

I swapped from dermalogica about 6 years ago and think both lrp and avene are superb products

Vibbe · 20/08/2013 21:30

Avene has a much better customer service/support than LRP.

The products are very similar.

I had some reactions with Avene face products, but nothing serious.
I've used the LRP face products (Effaclar and other ranges) and they don't really do that much for me - but no reactions.
The body products from Avene are very good IMO.

Just started using avene and I am really impressed. It's really cleared up my skin within about two weeks. My skin now looks brighter so I think it's well worth it. I use the cleanance emulsion and gel cleanser.

BaronessTeapot · 20/08/2013 21:45

I've used Avene for years. It's the only cream that doesn't give me a reaction, including LRP.

permaquandry · 21/08/2013 07:50

Thanks for all the replies, I'm going to a big boots and probably will try Avene. I'll post an update to see how I get on with it.

How did you get on

TinyDiamond · 07/05/2014 21:36

They are both great for the money. I find the lrp drying but I do use the effarclar range for problem skin. I love the avene facewash, green gel one. Lasts forever

callamia · 07/05/2014 21:40

I use Avene's cold cream gel for washing - it's lovely.
I also like their SPF light moisturiser and serum. The serum is really good.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 07/05/2014 21:42

If you like clarins then try Aldi skin care-it's a real dupe.

LRP has a bigger range and avene I find too harsh and it stings.

BumWad · 07/05/2014 21:49

Loved Avene and now on la roche posay.

Prefer avene

Alisvolatpropiis · 07/05/2014 23:05

I really like Avene. My skin plays up and I have found it has really helped. Probably because it is gentle and not trying to do 18 different things to my skin at the same time thereby causing further irritation.

I use the gel face wash.

ElBombero · 07/05/2014 23:20

Did the avene skin analysis online and they are sending me some samples.
Eagerly awaiting the boots 3 for 2 x

dreamingbohemian · 07/05/2014 23:28

Both are great, but I think Avene is better if your skin is at all sensitive or problematic

ElBombero · 08/05/2014 07:28

Is there a counter anywhere that seal with LRP or avene? As others have said the ranges are overwhelming

PootlewasthebestFlump · 08/05/2014 22:14

After a hormonal breakout I am experimenting with Avene and am very impressed.

Using the Cleanance gel at night and the lotion or antirougeurs cream in the day. 3 for 2 at Boots and quite impressed so far.

I have oily dehydrated hormonal sensitive skin. Yay me.

DaPrincessBride · 08/05/2014 22:16

Avene for me always. Love the eye cream.
