"Fragrant" second hand bags

Just wondering if anyone else has this problem or if I have an overly sensitive nose!

I recently bought 2 lovely bargainous bags off ebay. One from Fossil which I particularly like. They are both nice actually but my God they STINK! One reeks of cigarette smoke and the other like it's been used to cart a curry round in. Both leather so I can't wash them and febreze and hanging them out in the air isn't touching the smell. Any tips?

Bicarb of soda? (rubbing the dry crystals over the interior then leave them in?)

It works on fridge smells!

Tumble drier sheets. Leave a bunch of them in there over night?

I got a beautiful bag from eBay that stank of smoke. A combination of leaving it outside on a dry day for a few hours and also filling it with dry rice for 2 days got rid of the smell. Can't remember where I read the rice tip but it worked!
