Jeans for short hourglass shape

Back to work soon after maternity leave for DC3 and in need of decent jeans. I'm 5'2" and a size 12/14. Very hourglass shape, most trousers and skirts that fit on the hips are baggy on the waist. But I have been buying cheap ones from TK Maxx due to pregnancy related fluctuating weight over the last five years so hoping with a higher budget I'll be able to buy jeans that don't fall off.

I don't know the answer but I'm a similar shape so I'm very smoothly marking a little place here. I only have one pair of jeans!

I'm 5ft 2 and hourglass and around a size 12. I usually buy Baxter jeans from Top Shop. Also bought some from Boden recently as they have started a petite range. I agree though, finding jeans which fit is the Holy Grail of the short arse...

Hi, I am a similar height and shape - they are slagged off to high heaven but I have found NYD jeans (straight leg to avoid mum jean look) very good - they are so stretchy that they sit on the waist without falling down. After 2 C sections I cannot bear anything sitting on my scar and these sit nicely. They stock them at John Lewis.

I have also had some luck with Levi's curve

M&S 5 pocket jeggings. Come in loads of colours. THE BEST. Have converted plenty of people over to them Wink

Try Jigsaw Richmond - bit long maybe but you can get them altered.

barleysugar · 20/08/2013 14:36

Dorothy Perkins Eden Capri jeggings are the answer! Lovely and soft but don't bag at the knee.

ChubbyKitty · 20/08/2013 15:37

Sniff I wouldn't worry. My hips and thighs spill over the confines of an average garden chair now!

I just got some of those £9.99 ones from new looks. I remember having many pairs before I filled out and they were quite nice. Comfortable, and didn't make look like a waddling apple. Skinny jeans do these days unless I have ugg boots on to balance it outHmm

I'm 5 foot size 8/10 hour glass and I love wearing jeans.
For me it has to be 7 for all mankind kimmy jeans, they are way too long but the fit is perfect as they are sized by waist measurement and go up in single digits. I also like gap stretch jeans in skinny fit.

bishboschone · 20/08/2013 16:53

I'm size 10 hourglass and 5 ft. I get most of my jeans from tk maxx . Take an hour and try loads on. I like Tommy Hilfiger nina skinny and also replay blondy. I also some Ralph Lauren that are nice .

ChubbyKitty · 20/08/2013 21:12

I got some apple bottoms once and oh my god. They were fab. Then I grew out of them haha.

Must get some more...

Chopsypie · 20/08/2013 21:16

Levi's Demi curve for me. They do a short leg as well so should be able to get a good fit. The outlets are much cheaper than normal stores if you have one close by

Belindaearl2 · 20/08/2013 21:32

Oasis do cropped cherry jeans, or indigo slim leg

VileWoman · 21/08/2013 01:08

Ooooh, lots of suggestions. Will get busy ordering some jeans, although liking the M&S cheapo jeggings option to justify a more expensive option for 'better'.
