HOC colour experts... Have I bought the wrong coat?

Can any HOC Colour experts help me? I'm a deep summer and yesterday bought this coat m.warehouse.co.uk/eyelet-belted-mac/coats-&-jackets/warehouse/fcp-product/4270000106
I'm now thinking its too beige and the wrong colour for me. What do you think?
It has a very slight pink hue but nothing like the pink beige in the colour wallet.

I'm not a HOC person but I have studied colour theory, and these are the things I'd be asking myself if I liked the cut of something but wasn't sure whether the colour suited me:

  1. Do you like the colour?
  2. If you are "cool", is the colour also cool? (Opposite if you are warm, obvs.)
  3. If you suit muted colours, is it muted? (Opposite if you suit vivid colours.)
  4. Does it go with the clothes that suit you best?
  5. Does it NOT make you look ill/haggard/tired in daylight? (Nobody feels their best when scrutinising themselves in harsh light.)

If it ticks all of those boxes, why not keep it and add a scarf in one of your **/100% (?) colours?

Thanks for advice. I'm still unsure if the coat is wrong for a HOC summer. Beiges are a grey area for me IYKWIM. I can't decide if the neutral coat is a warm or cool colour?

Well, it's a cool beige on my monitor, but it does look like a tricky colour to wear.

I'm sure a HOC bod will be along soon to answer your question properly, but TBH if you don't feel great when you put it on then it probably isn't the right coat for you, even if it does turn out to be the "right" colour :). This may just be me, but I always find that if I need somebody's reassurance about an item then I probably won't end up wearing it (and will generally feel like kicking myself when the returns period elapses).

It will be fine!
