Can we talk trousers for work?

I'm in complete despair over my work wardrobe.

I always wear skirts because I just can't find any trousers that I like.

I would love to wear some cigarette/slim ones, but they just make me look like a parsnip :( And they make my bum (which is actually quite nice) look like a bag of wobbly, fighting badgers.

I'm a size 16, 5ft 7. Any recommendations please? I've tried on old bootcut ones and although they fit well, I just don't like how they look any more.

I was going to say cigarette trousers. I have two excellent pairs (one from Cos and one from the White Company) but the problem is finding a nice top just long enough to cover the bum. I've got a couple of v flimsy longish silk or silky-ish ones which work, but am really struggling to find more.

I really like those Remus and they look like they are thick, therefore potentially avoiding some of the the fighting-badgeriness :D

I've got the cropped ones (full length on me!). They come up big.

Do you mind me asking what size you are (and what size you bought if they come up big?)

She means do a search because there was a thread v recently! Iirc a lot of people said Next had some good narrow leg trews.

I wear cigarette trousers to work all the time. Think they look smarter and less frumpy than, say, boot cut.
