Suspenders showing through clothes

Just wondering, is this a complete no no? Thinking ahead here for a winter occasion and wanting to wear suspenders under a dress but having checked they can be detected. Don't want to wear hold ups, look horrific on my thighs. Do I have to go for sensible undies?

A good old fashioned underskirt is called for.

Although so few people wear suspenders these days, I doubt most people will twig.

I like stockings too, but have no Idea where I'd get a suspender belt.

Yes, but I don't want to wear tights. I guess I'm saying, if I don't care will anybody else? Would you think, how unsightly, I can see that woman is wearing suspenders?

It is the material of the dress that is the problem I imagine IME. If the dress is of substantial material/lined/plenty of material in the skirt then it is fine but if it is thinner (regardless of the actual material) you can see. But no, I don't think anyone will actually care - just if you are aware of it it may bother you! (I have done this - and ended up wearing tights or just bare legs to wear the dress.)

I wouldn't care unless it was a work event

I like smooth lines so don't like a vpl or in this case vsl.

Hmm, thanks everyone, I'll have to do some more trying out and see what I think.

I wore some hold ups to work the other day but only because i couldn't find any decent tights and noticed you could see them through pencil skirt when I sat down and crossed my legs...! to be honest unless you are being eyed up and down in detail no-one will notice I bet.

Try searching on Ebay will bring up many different styles!
