Ankle boots-ideas where to look please!

I've been looking for over 2 years now and I need help. I'm looking for ankle boots that aren't too clumpy and masculine looking but also aren't too neat and plain looking. I'm a size 7 (and a half really!) so the more clumpy biker boots make my feet look huge.
Really I'd like them to have almost a slouchy look to them or be short ankle boots. I also don't want black, would consider any other colour. Flat or with a tiny heel Oh and I'd prefer them to be leather and under £100.
I've lost track of everywhere I've looked now, and need suggestions for places I might not have thought of-I can't go another year without some Hmm!

Very easy to answer this question. Gabor, gabor, Gabor. I am a size 6 1/2, quite narrow foot and they fit like a glove. The shoes retail at around £60-85, so not sure of boots. But you can get gabor on Javari (the amazon shoe people). I have stopped buying now as I stocked up a couple of years ago.

Thank you veryconfused-I just had a look but they are also a bit too 'neat' and smart to what I'm thinking! There is one pair of wedge boots I quite like but I really want flat boots.

10,354 pairs of ankle boots on Amazon!!

QueenQueenie · 16/08/2013 10:48

Clarks. Really.

InMyShreddies · 16/08/2013 11:19

I thought of Clarks reading your OP, but also keep an eye on Shoeaholics - I got some bargainous Carvela ones last year reduced from £140 to £40 Smile

TiredMule · 16/08/2013 11:33

I've looked at Clarks and there's nothing there, just trawled through amazon and anything I vaguely like is only in stock in small sizes Hmm There are some fly boots that might be ok, but they are over budget and I don't love them.
I ordered some boots from KG last year but they were too clumpy and heavy on me, and just checked shoeaholics again and nothing there either.
This is hard!

Sorry to hear that Gabor was not Ok. I did also buy some long leather boots from Asda - 2 years ago. I did also buy their ankle books but didn't like them. The long boots were very reasonably priced at £30-40 (recommendation on mumsnet S&B). Ankles books were similar or slightly cheaper. I do have a very narrow foot and found the boots all too big but manage well with double socks in the long boots. So perhaps see if their winter range is up on the internet yet.

Can you link to some of the ones you like to give an idea of what to look for?

veryconfusedatthemoment · 16/08/2013 12:43

Sorry sounds like I have a boot fetish :)

foxysocks · 16/08/2013 12:50

Have you looked on brand boudoir? Lots of bargains in different styles

QueenQueenie · 16/08/2013 12:55

I can't believe there's not something you like on Clarks site!
I think you need to give us more idea of what you like / don't like...

brown / classic

black with tassel

cowboyish

low and grey

wedge with straps

snakey chelsea boot

biker

Sorry, I've been out...
Here is a linky to some boots I like on Pinterest

The first Clarks ones have too high a heel
2nd are the wrong colour and I'm not sure there is anything I like about them
3rd I quite like in theory but the heel is higher than I was thinking and they are a bit neat
4th are too neat-they look very narrow and tidy, but height etc good
5th are wrong colour and heel and again very 'neat'
6th I really don't like-don't like the shape, colour, snake, elastic etc
7th too much heel, black and again too neat.

I'm being very hard to please Blush

I'm looking for a casual every day boot, I'm a 31yr old SAHM, walk a lot to and from school and preschool etc
I want to wear with skinny jeans, dresses and skirts.

Thank you very much for helping me Thanks
I'm starting to think my dream boot doesn't exist (or at least in my size!)

I've got to pop out again in a bit but will be back later!

Ps (I've ordered the boots from office on the Pinterest link, but they only have black in stock, and they have no info as to if they will ever get any more of the brown ones, I do love them so I thought I'd get the black to try for fit and size and keep checking back like they suggested)

I LOVE those grey Clarks boots - have been looking for something flat to wear with skirts and skinnies - think they might be the ones!

TiredMule · 17/08/2013 07:26

Myboys- I like those grey ones too, they're just not what I'm looking for now! I'm glad you've found what you're looking for, I always find it so hard when I have a specific thing to find, but when you're not really looking is when you find the nicest stuffGrin!

I like the cowboyish ones from your link Queenie. Going to try them on after work and buy if they fit.

SundaySimmons · 17/08/2013 07:58

Not leather but you could buy four pairs that will last the same as one leather pair!

Wilding · 17/08/2013 08:12

Russell & Bromley have some gorgeous ones at the moment - I'm saving up for these
