Want to get some as a wedding present for friend. I like the anthropologie stuff but it's mega expensive and I'd like to see what else is out there first. Any recommendations? All budgets welcome; I'm nosy.

I've got my eye on some of this lovely stuff from Loaf

FaddyPeony · 15/08/2013 10:47

Lovely stuff, never heard of it! Am going to want it all for myself now. Anywhere else do really colourful stuff?

Not very exciting, but good quality, The White Company.

TK Maxx is mentioned a lot on here for quality bedding, too.

EasterHoliday · 15/08/2013 10:51

Designer's Guild! lovely stuff. Old seasons to be found in TK Maxx sometimes. THey do really good throws too.

Alwayscheerful · 15/08/2013 10:52

I buy colourful bed linen from Designers Guild (TK Max stock it sometimes). The loaf linen is similar to the toast range. Orla kiely is good if you like a retro look.

RubyLovesShopping · 15/08/2013 11:26

I get mine from DAPW the 1000 thread count feels lovely but I only ever buy white.

Madamecastafiore · 15/08/2013 11:30

I always buy plain stuff from the White Company or Feather and Black. It washes well and looks good for ages.

InMyShreddies · 15/08/2013 13:29

I think go with plain white but really good quality. Bed linen isn't something is want someone else choosing for me.

Have you looked at Cologne & Cotton? Beautiful French style linen

Vibbe · 15/08/2013 14:02

Marimekko!

I have the Unikko design in black and absolutely love it:

The quality is lovely - it's the kind of quality cotton that stays crisp and lovely, even after having been washed many times. It hasn't faded or worn at all - it looks completely new, despite having been used loads.

I bought it on sale a couple of years ago and had to get it for my parents too, as my mum loves the design too.

I love the red version too - it's a classic.

Either Toast or usually some absolute bargains on gorgeous bedlinen in TKMaxx

coffeeinbed · 15/08/2013 14:07

I bought some lovely pure linen one from La Redoute.
Used some discounts so it cane half price.

Marylou2 · 15/08/2013 14:34

I only ever buy White Company. I really should branch out. They last really well though.

JennySense · 15/08/2013 16:37

Has to be linen not cotton for me. I've bought duvet covers and sheets from Clatteringford online in the past.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 18/08/2013 09:18

The Dorma range at Dunelm is good - doesn't sound quite in the same league as the other posts but 400 thread count, washes beautifully and lasts well.

Ashinagai · 18/08/2013 20:24

Cologne and Cotton is beautiful, lasts really well

FaddyPeony · 18/08/2013 22:33

Really nice suggestions, all, thanks :)

The consensus seems to be to go as plain as possible!
