Do the wires on the Bloomsbury Bra come up high under your armpit (like the Panache Tango balconies)? I've just taken delivery of a 36K and this is literally my last hope but it's not overly comfortable :( The cup fit is perfect, centre wires dead flat, shape is fabulous etc. - it ticks all the boxes. But the wire under my armpit feels a bit like it's digging in. Not really badly but it is there. The band is very tight - not exactly uncomfortable but I can only fit one finger under on the loosest hook and I couldn't do it up at the back by myself. Is it worth trying a 38 instead, to see if the wires don't dig in so much, do you think, or would the band size not affect that? (if I do try a bigger band, what cup size should I get if the 36K is perfect?)

Thanks so much!!

It's not a Panache so wires nothing like as vicious!

If the band is a bit snug but the rest is ok, try swapping it for a 38JJ.

Make sure you scoop away from your armpit so that no flesh gets caught there.

Awestruck, 36K!!

marriednotdead · 14/08/2013 22:06

It's not as big as you might think appletarts but it's hard work to find a good bra in that range.

InTheRedCorner · 14/08/2013 22:11

I long to find a bra that fits well.

I'm measuring a 28/30 C/D but can't find anywhere that starts any lower than a 32 Sad

PassTheTwiglets · 14/08/2013 22:20

appletarts, I don't like to think that I'm shocking people with them :( I loathe and despise them and wish I was brave enough for a reduction.

Bless you, married for saying it's not as big as you think. They are as big as you think, but bless you anyway :)

It has been a nightmare but this one is lovely (actually, I hardly saw any difference, cup-wise, between the 36JJ and the 36K but the K perhaps marginally better. Will try the 38JJ, thank you!

It's ironic, really. Years ago, all you could find was black white or nude in my size and I longed for a pretty bra in a colour. Now I need a nude bra and the only one that fits is this bright blue floral one! I'm waiting for the new Bravissimo stock to come in and will have another hunt then.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Thanks

Oh pass please don't be Sad I think this new way of measuring has opened avenues for the need for cups higher up the alphabet which means when people hear about it for the first time they can be a bit Shock but once they start to read up on it the cup is only relevant with the correct band size.

As long as you are comfortable and not leaving anything out iykwim because that's what I've been doing for years.

Scooping has changed my whole bra size!

InTheRedCorner Debenhams Gorgeous range starts at a 28D as does the Curvy Kate range.

PassTheTwiglets · 15/08/2013 08:22

Thanks, Red :) It's tricky at the moment because my DD is hitting puberty and it's so hard to be positive about my body in front of her, as I know I have to! eg. this morning she said "Wow, your boobs are really big, Mum" and I breezily replied "I know, they're fabulous aren't they? I love them!" When inside I'm thinking "argh, they're gross, I hope you don't take after me" :(

Sorrel, I was really surprised at Debenhams having such a great range of sizes (far better than Selfridge and John Lewis that I tried recently!) This is only online, incidentally, RedCorner, they didnt hvae that much of a range in store.

Just remembers that Therapy (sold at House of Fraser) do some very pretty bras which start at 28C

StatisticallyChallenged · 15/08/2013 10:17

Damaris/Mimi Holliday do 28C, john Lewis also do a few
