I have a special occasion coming up and have tried to curl my fine jaw lenght bob with tongs and hairspray, but after 1/2 hours the curls drop out. All ideas welcome !

Did you do it on freshly washed hair? I've heard it's best to curl hair that was washed the night before.

Caught11 · 13/08/2013 21:43

Thanks Lily, washed my hair this morning, curled it at 6 oclock tonight.

LoadS of mouse and a hair dresser who does a good curly blow dry.

Definitely lots of mouse though. I have a similar mop (no other word for it) and have found curl constructor mouse and babyliss curlers seem to do the trick if hairdresser isnt an option

Do you know anyone that has a Babyliss Pro curl? Those buggers make curls that last!

I've had my hair curled at the hairdressers and it has lasted several days. Have it done very tight to the extent that when you leave the hairdressers you look ridiculous and it will drop by the time you go to your event. Everyone howls when I come in from the hairdressers because it does look hideous but by the time I'm due to go it is lovely. When I went food shopping the next day, the lady on the till told me how gorgeous my curls were and asked where I'd had it done. She could not believe it had been slept on. It costs me £25.

I curl DD's but it's not on par with it being done at the Hairdressers, but it does curl better when it has not been washed.

I hope this helps, I love curly hair.

My hairdresser curls mine with GHDs and it lasts on my limp pathetic hair for a couple of days.

Tried doing it myself, just end up burning my hands and literally pulling my hair out!

Thanks ladies, I dont think it helps that my hair is poker straight! Please keep the ideas coming....if nothing works may just revert to the straight bob,but was after somthing a bit special

After you curl each section, wrap it round your finger and pin it to your head. Spray with hairspray. Then leave them to cool before you take them down.

Thanks count have already tried this way, didnt make much difference..maybe its just my hair?
