Clothes to play golf in!

Do any of you stylish ladies play golf? I've just joined the local golf club and was wondering what to wear, especially in the warmer weather, and where to purchase the appropriate clothes.

You need to cover your shoulders, so short sleeve shirts with collars. Shorts need to be long, to your knees. A visor / cap will be useful in the sun.

The pro shop might have clothes. Otherwise any big pro shop or golf superstore will be able to help. A lot of the gear will be branded ie: ping, Dunlop etc..., though you don't need to buy that as will be more expensive.

Golf shoes and a pair of shoes/ not trainers to wear in the bar afterwards for the required cup of tea and apsandwiches. Golf shoes not allowed in the bar. You might want to pack a spare change of clothes to change into after your game.

Maybe a sweater v-neck over your short and light rain golf jacket to put in your bag.

Thanks Dededum.Actually I'm surprised by those rules as I've seen lots of women in shorter shorts, shortish straight skirts and sleeveless polo shirts! In fact looking rather glam. I'm not that body confident so will be going for the longer options!

In this day and age there is no need to cover shoulders or wear shorts to your knees! Sleeveless t shirts are very popular and 'skorts' are really comfortable to play golf in.

Check the rules of the club - short shorts are not allowed at my parents club.

I will do,I was quite surprised when I saw some of the women, but it is a fairly prestigious club, the joining fees were enough!

Yes check with the club. I'm a member of quite a prestigious club which has a very relaxed feel to it. We can wear jeans in the clubhouse, providing they're smart.

On the course I tend to wear fitted polo shirts and chino type trousers. I either buy online or from my club proshop. The crested items from there are very popular, and some are very nice.

I have just started having lessons with a professional golfer.

I bought three polo shirts from ebay and I have bought some capri length gingham trousers from Matalan which I know sound revolting but are incredibly flattering and look fab!

Link is for the pink polo, I bought a pale blue and a Dark blue from the same seller.
