Forget the M&S Jeggings

Try Uniqlo Ultra Stretch instead!

I lived in my M&S ones last autumn/winter and was out looking for replacements for this year as I've dropped a dress size and the Uniqlo ones kick the arse of the M&S ones. They're thicker material, softer, better colours (none of that not-quite-right blue that M&S denim always comes in, and best of all are tailored to length free of charge on the day you buy them. Honestly, they're so much better quality I felt I had to share. Totally worth the whole 7 extra pounds they cost.

I have a couple of pairs of them and they are good, I agree!

IsItWishfulThinking · 16/08/2013 10:47

Brain, that Link is only bringing up jeans? You've got me all excited for the 'ultimate' in jeggings now! What's the name of them as I've searched for what you described but like I say, it's just jeans?

HotelTangoFoxtrotUniform · 16/08/2013 10:50

The website is a bit rubbish - you can't link the jeggings. Scroll down the page - the top ones are the ultra stretch ones. They're jeggings rather than jeans, I promise!

IsItWishfulThinking · 16/08/2013 11:26

The ones that are called ultra stretch jeans? Do they all have proper zips and buttons?

chanie44 · 16/08/2013 11:28

Yes, they do have proper buttons and zips.

The do come up big. Really big, so size down, 1-2 sizes

WildThongsHeartString · 16/08/2013 11:43

I'm a 16 - will this be a 32 in Uniqlo sizing?

thanks

chanie44 · 16/08/2013 18:26

Not sure.

The sizing is really strange in uniqlo. The best thing to do is check the sizing guide. I would recommend buying 1-2 sizes smaller as they come up big and there is a lot of stretch in them.

HoneyDragon · 16/08/2013 18:29

33" length so no good for normal sized people like me. Only you giant folks.

I find the Gap ones ver, very good though.

MikeLitoris · 16/08/2013 18:35

The store locator says they only have shops in london. Is that right?

I'm sure I went into ine in Bristol.

I would need them taken up so need to buy in store.

These are exactly what I am looking for.

SpringyReframed · 16/08/2013 18:48

Brain, do they come up as high in the waist as the M & S ones? It is the thing I particularly love about them - no muffin top.

HotelTangoFoxtrotUniform · 18/08/2013 12:29

Yes they're about the same rise as the M&S ones. I have shelf-like hips so low rise anything looks dreadful on me.

LostMarbles99 · 18/08/2013 12:55

But are they nice and soft?

HotelTangoFoxtrotUniform · 18/08/2013 13:06

So soft! Especially the grey ones

LostMarbles99 · 18/08/2013 13:16

Sounds good but I can only see 4 colours, none of which is would wear as they are v v bright!

LilyBossom · 18/08/2013 13:24

sizing is confusing, 24 seems tiny and the next size available is a 30 which seems much bigger. I only want a size 10 - any clue as to what size that could be?

MotionCity · 18/08/2013 14:02

Is the 33" an accurate inside leg measurement? I'm a 35.5" and can sometimes get away with an inaccurately-labelled 34". I love the look of Uniqlo jeans!

HotelTangoFoxtrotUniform · 18/08/2013 22:19

LostMarbles They had loads of colours in store - I have grey, black and indigo which aren't bright at all. I think the website is even more rubbish than I assumed.

LilyBossom The waist sizes go up in inch increments - I bought a 25 and am an 8, so would go for a 27 as a 10, though try a 26 and 28 - I could get into the 24 but was worried that they wouldn't give enough (I can always buy new smaller pairs if I need to, oh to be in that predicament).

MotionCity I can't help on how long they are because mine are now 29 inches long - maybe call the store and ask them to measure? They did seem ultra-long on me though, coming past my toes before I scrunched them up round my ankles. Am v jealous of your long legs!

AWimbaWay · 19/08/2013 12:37

They do have all the colours on the website, you just have to click on the 4 pics and more colour options are given.

FreeButtonBee · 22/08/2013 07:38

Just bought a pair yesterday! They are brilliant! Definitely get them sized down. I ended up getting a 25 waist and would have considered myself a 10 ( I have no bum though so needed them tight to hold them up).

So so comfy and stretchy - I will so be buying about 3 more pairs to get through the wintwr
