best supermarket jeans?

I realise that there may be no such thing, but I need some jeans for the start of autumn that fit. Have a six week old baby and I just can't fit into my pre pregnancy jeans at all Sad. So I'm looking for something cheap to wear until such a time that I will (hopefully!) get back into them.

So which supermarkets - or other places - should I try? Are there any particular types that you would recommend? If I can order online so much the better. we have tesco asda and a v small sainsbury around here.

I have a few pairs of the £7 skinnies from Primark - I love them but do make sure you try them on, as different colours are different shapes and sizes. And I bought a lovely dark grey supersoft pair and the seam at the bottom is really twisted to the point they look too silly to wear. Bit annoyed as I took the tags off before realising.

A friend in work had a lovely pair of jeans, £9.99 from International. Dark indigo and straight legged I admire them every time she wears them I'd say she was a 16.
I keep meaning to go and try a pagiron. I usually wear Asda jeans but was disappointed in the bum and tum ones.

Ooops Blush

The Asda great bum jeans. They come up high and look fab. I got mine yesterday in a size 14 for £18. They hold you in and, I think they look a bit sexy.

My asda jeans are a 16. Not sure about the mixed size thing??

I have a 16 week old, and did love the M and S 5 pocket jeggings right after DS was born but had them in a size up from pre-pregnancy and now i have lost a bit of weight so found them no longer a good fit.

Not normally a fan of Next, but I got these this week and think they are fantastic - very very stretchy and soft, and a low waist that sits below the mum tum, which I think is more comfortable than trying to suck it into a high waist. Not washed them yet, but so far I love them!

I bought some Primark skinnies (grey) that were reduced to £7.
CBA trying them on in the shop but I always size Up in Primani so I got the 14 (usually a 12) and they fit fine (bit baggy but I'll wear a belt)

My other jeans are the Tesco £10. Couple of pairs are ok, my oldest pair looks a bit Status Quo now Blush and they've stretched over the years so definately need a belt.

I've had the Sainsbury's sculptured fit ones and they're great. Quite high waisted and seem to keep their shape. I've had a lot of compliments wearing them, they're very flattering (I'm a size 16 apple shape).

Well dh dropped in town yesterday but had a very unsuccessful trip (not helped by being accompanied by grumpy baby and feeling ill myself).

Nothing at all in DP or Sainsburys, the next jeans looked as though they would sit on my scar and didn't get chance to look in New look. They did have the jeggings in marks, but there were so many types I was bamboozled and didn't have hands free to rummage. It was the asda wonderfit jeans that were dual sizes and I've sent dh to investigate today.

So the search goes on, going to have a trip to the big shops I think. With dh so that he can look after baby whilst I look. In the meantime I've decided it's better if I don't leave the house I look truly awful. Unless I can go out in pyjamas? They fit me Smile

I bought the Next ones today after the GreatSoprendo linked to them. They are great, really, stretchy. But I don't have a c scar!

GreatSoprendo · 12/08/2013 22:09

Glad they were good for you cocolepew - I think they are a great find. I too only have a mumtum to deal with and no c-section scar.

Hope you find something soon shelley72. One thing that did help me straight after DS was born was ordering tons of stuff in loads of sizes from New Look online for free delivery to their nearby store then getting DP to collect it so I could try it all on at home - then he returned the 'surplus' to the store. Sounded like you have a New Look in reach of home...?

You could do the same with M and S too? Might make it easier to contemplate shopping!
