Straightening hair

I have quite curly hair that I normally wear curly and I love it like that. I had it blow dried straight at the hairdressers this week and I really like the results for a change. I'm contemplating buying some straighteners and if I can do it at home trying maybe once a week for a change.

Will I lose my natural curl though?

No. As soon as you wash your hair your natural curls will return. My friend has her very curl hair straightened at the hairdressers about once a month as she is just unable to do it at home herself and get the same results.

I don't understand any of this hair straightening nonsense. Me I'm a child of the eighties when hair was as big as humanly possible, and nice and cruchie with laquer

No you won't lose it, I've alternated between straight and curly for years. Just make sure you use heat protector and keep it well conditioned or it will end up dry and frizzy.

Thank you everyone.
