Silly question Re side fringe

I've been growing out a full fringe since January but its still too short to sit behind my ears , so it's gripped back and looks severe and ugly.

I've been googling side fringes and am thinking of having one cut in. I have an appt with hairdresser this Saturday so do I just ask her for a side fringe or are there different variations?

Plus does it keep falling in your face the whole time? Will it be permanently sprayed to keep it in place?

I have a side fringe. I find it adds a bit of interest and softness around the face. It does occasionally need pushing out of the way but usually it's fine and sits where it's supposed to. Your hairdresser should discuss how you want it cut and shaped. Mine starts at my side parting and then sweeps across my forehead and comes down by the outer corner of my eye ( if that makes sense).
