Are you sure you look awful?

Hav you tired putting make on with them as they are a strong look and if you're bare faced you might not look 'balance'

Sorry if you've tried this already its just I've found I look kinda harsh if Ive dyed hair dark.

Dumpylump · 07/08/2013 23:39

Well, if you really think they look awful, then soak a cotton wool pad in eye makeup remover - I think the oily ones for waterproof mascara work best - then hold it over your lashes for a few minutes and they should come away easily.
But I would second what feelingood said...try putting on some makeup,or leave it til the morning and then have a fresh look. If your own lashes are are sparse as you say, then maybe it's just the sudden difference that has taken you by surprise Smile

Do NOT, I repeat NOT pull them off if they don't come away easily. You'll end up with no lashes at all if you do (voice of bitter experience!). If you really have to remove them you should rub olive oil into them so I'm told, it's supposed to dissolve the glue. Not sure I'd want to rub oil so close to my eyes though, eek!

RhondaJean · 07/08/2013 23:45

Yes oil will dissolve the glue eventually

What is your natural colouring? I have constant extensions but the trick is, they aren't too long, also I am very dark haired and eyed and they don't look odd on me without any other eye makeup day to day. If you are paler then try full eye makeup like the others said and see how that is.

Whatever you do don't panic and try to pull them off.

Why not go back to the salon where it was done and tell them you're not happy with them? At the very least they would be able to remove them for you.

I removed mine by dabbing a cotton wool bud / q-tip in a tiny bit of acetone nail varnish remover (please do not tell me off!!!) and touched it on the area where the eyelash was glued. The eyelash came away very easily and I didn't get it in my eyes. I do not recommend this method but it did work and I was very careful.

dont panic - they can look very heavy without make up on....i nearly died when i had falsies individually put in - but after 2 weeks i didnt ever want to take them off again! they made my eyes look massive.....like huge cats eyes and i loved the effect.

dont pick them off. sleep in them, put make up on tomorrow and see if that makes a difference (dont put mascara on)

if you still hate the effect then go back to the salon or buy some glue dissolver from a chemist and take them off that way - i just go back to my salon and get them removed. My lashes always take a while to recover though....i have them once a year or so.

if you buy lash glue dissolver put it on with a paint brush, leave for a few mins and then rub gently with a cotton bud.
i found nothing else would get mine off.

Thanks for all the advice ladies, really appreciate it Flowers. I think the problem is they are black, whereas brown would suit my colouring better. Also she gave me quite a dramatic flick on the outside edge which just made me resemble a 'drag queen'!!

Having trimmed them to a more reasonable length and 2 days of getting used to them, they seemed to have moulded to more of my natural eye shape?!? Still quite prominent but I no longer feel I can't venture out of the house Grin

Wouldn't rush to have them done again but I can live with them until they are removed after my holiday (they are waterproof!).
